4 years ago, I got my very first sketchbook. At that time, the idea of creating, painting, experimenting, and making was constantly on my mind but something I “didn't have time for”…yet somehow I was able to find the time to scroll on social media, do busy work, watch Netflix 😅 I realized if I truly wanted to create art then I needed to make it a priority and well, make some art! That's what led me to getting that sketchbook. It was a physical reminder of a commitment I was making to myself and to this desire I had to create again. I also knew I had to take action. I started off small and easy--playing with paint, crayons--whatever supplies and tools I had. Then I began to give myself prompts to explore. Day by day the blank pages transformed into tangible pieces of my imagination. Because of this sketchbook, a part of me was brought back to life. I rediscovered one of my greatest passions. I created projects that never even would've been dreamt up if I hadn't started this journey. I've gotten to connect with so many amazing people through art (you!) and create together! Whether you can relate to my experience, have never done anything in visual arts before but would like to, feel a little stuck, want to start again, are consistently creating or doing it here and there, or you're just open to new inspiration, I'd love for you to join me for this year's Sketchbook Un-Slump! This is an invitation to create, wherever you are in your journey and practice. |

The Sketchbook Unslump is a free 4 week series where we'll explore different prompts and create in our sketchbooks (or whatever your blank canvas may look like). I provide ideas, support, and gentle guidance and you have the freedom and space to do what you'd like and what feels best for you! Here's what you can expect when you sign up: - 1 Prompt email every Sunday with the week's theme along with ideas and exercises to try
- 1 Check-In email every Thursday (this will be short & sweet--just a quick reminder to keep us on track!)
- All ages and levels are welcome to join, no experience is needed!
- This series is about the process, problem solving, taking time to explore and be curious, seeing where things lead you, and embracing your own unique perspective
- It's NOT about perfection, comparing yourself to others, or having to make a specific painting
- Everything I provide is open to your interpretation and are only suggestions--I will never tell you how to create because I think that's for you to decide!
Week 0's email (to go over supplies/help you prep) will be sent out on Sunday, October 5th. Week 1 of the Un-Slump officially begins on Sunday, October 12th! If you'd like to sign up, please click the link below and you're in! |

This is the 4th year I'm hosting this series and it's exciting to do it in the fall! Usually it happens during the summer (the alliteration is nice :) and that's when I tend to get slumpy) but this year the social media break was happening so I decided to hold off. I think it'll be interesting and fun to embrace the energy of this new season and see what inspiration we can find in it. I hope to create with you soon! Take good care and Happy Fall, |

PS: If you're reading this on the day it gets sent out, then the free Stamp Making Virtual Workshop is happening tomorrow, Sunday, Sept. 8th from 11AM to Noon PST! If you'd like to sign up, please click here. If you can't make it but still want the recording, please be sure to RSVP as well. |
