The nostalgia of a trick-or-treat pumpkin bucket inspired this hanging tile. It was designed by Megan, the glaze and kiln maestra of our production team. After making Moravian tiles for two years, she got to try her own hand at creating an original tile that is available for this year's spooky season. Come see our

TileWorks 4th Annual Holiday ornament is inspired by an original sketch by Henry Mercer himself, and adapted by the TileWorks team into a cuenca style tile. “Santa” is produced at our historic tilery and is individually hand-painted in our Heritage glaze colors.

Hot out of the Kiln. The TileWorks team is releasing a new series of four tiles inspired by historic English transfer tiles and by Henry Mercer's love for the seasons and the rhythms of the natural world. In production now are 6" X 6" Morn & Night. Coming soon are Noon & Eve. The original molds were carved by master modeler, Tim Carder. Pre-order now online. Available in blue underglaze.

Penn State ceramics professor and former TileWorks Director of Education, Julianna Lange, is back at TileWorks to teach her fun Halloween-themed classes. All levels and all ages are welcome to join her for an evening of creative expression, as you shape and form your clay into jack-o-lanterns at our historic tilery.

Join local oil painting artist David Stier for a plein air workshop. Explore prismatic vs. earth color palettes, necessary outdoor painting tools, sketching for composition, and finding subjects that inspire you—with plenty of time for feedback and conversation along the way. Open to all levels. Acrylic and watercolor paints may also be used.

This master class teaches basic modeling and mold making techniques using a combination of clay and plaster. During this four week course you will learn how to create a tile model using a design of your choice and then produce production molds.

Master craftsman, Tim Carder first studied mold making at Staffordshire University in Stoke-on-Trent. For a large part of his professional career he designed and modeled many decorative pieces of china giftware at Lenox China.

He currently resides in New Hope.

“Brits at TileWorks” The Philadelphia MG Club is back at TileWorks for the final car show of their season.

Come take part in this fun, informal car show celebrating all British cars! Whether you own one or simply admire them, everyone is welcome to attend. Food from Travelin' Hot Dogs will be available for purchase. We hope to see you there!

TileWorks and Vampa step into a night of shadows, fire, and Gothic enchantment at Fangs & Fire: A VAMPA Masquerade at TileWorks October 18 5:30-12. Wander candlelit halls, encounter oracles, fire dancers, poets, and living statues, and dance under the moonlight to DJs inside and out. Costumes, masks, and vampire-inspired attire are strongly encouraged for mystery, revelry, and a dazzling costume contest hosted by the evening's master of ceremonies, Madame X. Choose General Admission for a night of immersive spectacle or upgrade to the Elite Experience for VIP lounges, premium cocktails, and exclusive performances.

Pumpkinfest returns October 25 & 26, 2025, bringing autumn magic to life with pumpkins, live music, and family fun. Saturday features a live Pumpkin Carving Contest, face painting, balloon twisting, tractor encounters and plenty of treats, while Sunday keeps the vibe going with youth carvers and more festive activities. TileWorks offers free tours Saturday from 1-4pm. In the unlikely event of rain, the whole shabang shifts to Sunday. Thanks to our partners and Pumpkinfest organizers at BC Cares.

Boo-gie in the big room with local favorite band, Wineskin. The band will perform in the historic Big Room. With its 20 foot barrel-vaulted ceiling, it is renowned for the crisp bone-chilling acoustics. Spill out into the courtyard & gather with conviviality round the bonfire and under the arcaded balcony with friends, old and new. Let's tap our toes and shake our boo-ty this hallowed season. We hope to see you at this spirited occasion. Let's have a ball! All are welcome: vampires, French maids, witches, ghosts, Luke Skywalker, Phillies Karen, and Dorothy from Oz.

A Night of Song returns for its third year at TileWorks, presented in collaboration with Stage United, the live music non-profit founded by our friend Joe Montone. This intimate concert series brings together artists whose songs demonstrate a passion for craft and story, echoing the handmade traditions at the heart of TileWorks' mission.

Set against the historic backdrop in The Moravian Pottery and Tile Works, this winter music series offers you a seat by the fireplace in the big room, where musical stories resonate in a space built for timeless storytelling. Year three continues the spirit of gathering and celebrating community through music.

May 16 and 17 of 2026.

PA250 TileWorks is seizing the opportunity to collaborate within the community and create tiles and programming around the semiquincentennial celebration of America's founding. We use our tiles as they have been used by every culture and in every timeline to tell stories. Just as Mercer’s curiosity led him to tell stories of the New World through a tile maker's lens, we are considering the stories of some of America's unsung heroes, and re-introducing some of Mercer's original designs. Our tiles hold the stories of both ordinary and extraordinary moments of our American history and culture; innovation and art for our future selves to learn by or from.

SEPTEMBER RECAP

"On Saturday, September 20, I was happy to temporarily change roles at TileWorks and step into the shoes of a student. I learned a new technique, underglaze transfer, with ceramicist Evelyn Taylor Bonner. This required more patience and planning than expected, but I loved every minute. Opportunities to connect with other artists, students, and friends in one spot is rewarding and valuable in so many ways. I can’t wait to see how my underglaze rendition of Van Gogh’s Starry Night turns out after it is glazed and fired. We all loved the class so much that we are trying to talk Evelyn into a day-long workshop. Stay tuned!"
