What detail surprises you in this painting?
Several of you, including
Dr. Patel, noted that the brim of the boy's hat doesn't appear to be attached to the crown. Or, as Bernie put it, it's “floating around his head.”
Maria commented on “the intense, hard work of blowing bubbles!” (Question for Maria: what one specific detail gave you that idea?)
Mary Pat noted the novelty of a young boy having a peacock feather in their hat.
She, as well as Rachelle, also noticed the scars on the boy's cheeks.
Thank you to all this month's contributors!
Next month's painting is a new-to-me nude with plenty of unusual details to spot.
