Happy Monday, First name / friend!
Welcome to Q4. However the last nine months have gone for you, we're willing to bet it hasn't been boring. We're also willing to bet that not everything happened exactly as you'd planned it. Let's take a pause, shall we?
We often talk about 1° shifts: how small changes can radically alter your trajectory. Take a look at these numbers:
- 1 foot away: Being off by one degree = 0.2 inches.
- 100 yards away: That gap grows to 5.2 feet.
- 1 mile away: Now you’re off by 92.2 feet.
- San Francisco to L.A.: 6 miles off course.
- Aiming for the moon: 4,000 miles off (twice the Moon’s diameter).
- Shooting for the nearest star: 441 billion miles off.
Small distractions repeated over time can take you way off-track. Small commitments to routine, small connections, small moments of reflection and refocusing on your goals — that's what will keep you on course.
So, as we round out the year, ask yourself:
- What separates me from the goals I set at the beginning of the year?
- Do those goals still fit my life, or do they need to shift?
- What is one change I can make (mindset, skill set, routine, etc.) to shift my trajectory?
