Moving forward.

Even if this month has been a bit more quiet, we have still been able to deliver some nice features. Let's take a look together.

Maintenance Status
We had a maintenance window planned for Friday, September 12, 2025, between 1:00 PM and 4:00 PM EDT (5:00 PM to 8:00 PM GMT), but we didn't have to use it! We have been able to perform the storage increase and the cache reconfiguration without any downtime!

We will need another maintenance window in November to reconfigure the network. This will definitely have an impact and downtime but we will try to keep it as small as possible. More information about that in the next newsletter.

What's New and Improved?

Grid view improvement: One more improvement in the grid view where you now have the headers displayed! The displayed header depends on the ordering. Ordering by set will show set headers, ordering by color will saw the color name header etc.
Scanner updates: We have retrained most of the models on the scanner side. Cropping cards is even better, detecting the different sections works very well! However, our OCR tool is giving us some challenged. Indeed, for the same card, it sometimes recognizes one collector number, sometimes another one. We have two models for the number detection. One just for the card number, one for the entire footer. But the OCR can read 131 for one and 181 for the other one. We will work this month on developing how own OCR model. This will give us three results. If 2 or more are the same, we will consider that as correct. Else, the scan will fail.
Performances: We worked on making your list showing faster. While this might not be very visible for small lists, it makes a huge difference for the big ones. Given this improvement, we have been able to remove the 4000 limit in the display! You can now load more than 15k card in the list in a few seconds and it's still very reactive! We didn't try yet with more, but it probably works! Let us know if you do!
Analytics: The analytics page got some love! It's now accessible from the top menu, and you can click on a set to “dive” into the details of what you have and what you are missing, including the prices of those individual cards.
And More: We also improved a lot of little things here and there. The login menu is more user friendly, the headers on the lists are now telling you how many cards and versions in that section, you can now toggle the finish of your card in almost every screen, added a sound alert in the scanner when you find a card above $10,

Coming Next:

Scan OCR: We will try to implement the collector number OCR this month! That will greatly reduced the number of failed scans!
The List recognition: We don't have that many scans from that set, so we might scan some cards manually to have more data for the training.

As always, We Need Your Input!

  • Keep the Ideas Coming: Your feedback is crucial to Gestic's growth. What features are you enjoying? What can we improve? Many of our best features, like the card scanner, started as user suggestions! This month, the automated document scanner was a user suggestion. Thanks a lot for that.
  • Help Us Expand Our LGS Network: Don't see your favorite local game store on Gestic? Let us know, and we'll work on adding it! This makes it easier than ever to find the cards you need locally.

Highlighted Feature of the Month: Search

This month, we are excited to introduce the Search action, a shortcut to find any card, in any of your lists. This new feature is a request from one of you!

You might have a big collection, with many sets, or many lists organized a way that works for you, and you might be wondering if you have a given card. If it's in your collection, you can use the name filter above the name column. But what if it's “somewhere” in a list, among those 100 lists you have? The Search feature now solves that.

Using the search box in the home page, enter the name of a card you are looking for. Don't worry about partial names, or typos, we got you covered. It will show you the potential match from which you can choose. If the name you want is not showing, just keep typing and it will.

When you see the card you are looking for, just click on it. You will then be able to see in which lists, if any, this card is present, even if other languages.

Choose the one you want and click on it. I will open the related list, scroll down to the requested card and highlight it.

Feel free to test this search feature intensively! We know that punctuation sometimes can get on the way and we are working on that. But if there is anything else you might to see added, we will be happy to do so!

Thanks for being an incredible part of Gestic's journey. Your support means the world to us,
