Have you ever held onto a plan so tightly that it started to squeeze the joy right out of you?
I know that feeling all too well.
In the early days of creating The Art of the Heart, I thought I was doing everything “right.” I had my idea, my vision, my carefully outlined plan—women’s groups, Reiki sessions, intuitive readings. That was the dream.
But I’ll never forget when the landlord looked at me and said, “You’ll need to sell something. This is a retail space.”
I froze. That wasn’t part of the plan. I didn’t know the first thing about retail. But somewhere in the quiet that followed, I felt the nudge: “Try it. See where it leads.”
So, I brought in a few crystals. Some decks. A handful of spiritual tools I personally loved. And then… people came. Not just for the healing sessions, but for the energy of the space itself. For the intention. For the soul of it.
And before I knew it, this little healing room turned into a full spiritual boutique and community space. It didn’t happen because I forced it to—it happened because I allowed it to unfold.
That experience changed everything for me.
It taught me that sometimes, the most powerful thing you can do is let go of the plan and follow what’s opening up in front of you—even if it doesn’t look like what you expected.
Because fear doesn’t always scream. Sometimes, it whispers things that sound incredibly reasonable:
- “Wait until it’s the right time.”
- “You should be more prepared.”
- “You need to be careful.”
Those thoughts seem like wisdom… but often, they’re fear in a clever disguise.
I had to start asking myself:
Is this thought rooted in alignment—or is it rooted in anxiety?
And let me tell you, the difference between those two energies? Life-changing.
Alignment doesn’t always look logical. It looks like following the yes you feel in your belly before your mind catches up. It looks like choosing expansion over control.
When I let go of needing to know how it would all work, life met me with grace I couldn’t have orchestrated if I tried. The right people showed up. The right products found their way to me. The community built itself around a vision I didn’t fully understand at the start—but trusted enough to follow.
And that’s what I want to remind you of today:
- You don’t have to know every step.
- You don’t have to have it all figured out.
- You don’t have to be “ready” in the way you think you should be.
You just have to be willing to trust what feels aligned—and take the next brave step, even if your voice shakes while doing it.
Affirmation of the Week
“I trust the unfolding. I don’t need to control the flow to be carried by it.”
Letting Go Isn’t Weakness—It’s Wisdom
If you’re in a season where the map feels unclear, where the future looks foggy, and where the temptation to figure it all out is louder than ever—I see you. I’ve been you. I am you, still, on many days.
But here’s what I’ve come to know:
- Your soul is never confused.
- Your timing is not off.
- And your purpose is far too alive to be squeezed into a static plan.
Letting go doesn’t mean giving up. It means loosening your grip just enough so something greater can come through. It means choosing presence over perfection, flow over force, surrender over control.
Every time I thought I had the whole thing planned, life surprised me with something better. But it only happened when I was willing to stop pushing and start listening.
So if you’ve been trying to muscle your way through a transition, a calling, or a dream—maybe the invitation this week is to soften.
To release the pressure.
To believe that what’s meant for you doesn’t need to be controlled—it just needs to be welcomed.
The next time you find yourself trying to architect your way to alignment, remember this:
You are not lost—you’re just being asked to trust.
Trust the tug. Trust the unfolding. And most of all, trust yourself.
With love and grace,
Sue
