Mark Your Calendar:
On Tuesday October 14th, one week from today,  bill H.1343 (an Act Relative to Direct Primary Care) will have a hearing at the Massachusetts State House.  This is where your voice matters!  We need people to provide testimony (in person, live-stream, or a written statement) as to why you are in favor of this bill.  In order to give testimony, you must REGISTER no later than October 10th at 5pm. I will include links below in addition to instructions on giving a written statement.  Anyone is welcome to watch the live-stream day of the hearing. (see Event Details button below).

How to Give Testimony at the Hearing:
The hearing will go from 10:30am - 1pm on Tues Oct 14th.  The Joint Committee on Finance will be reviewing 23 different bills related to health care and insurance during that time.

If you register to give testimony (in person or via live-stream) you will need to prepare a statement that has a 3 minute time limit.  Once you register, you will receive an email with a link to join the livestream.

Don't know what to say?  It's ok!  Just speak your truth.  The legislators are moved by real stories by real constituents that are affected by the current state of our health care.

How to Give Written Testimony:
Don't have time to attend the hearing, but still want to have your voice heard?

Send an email to:
the Joint Committee on Financial Services at:
with the subject line as follows:
"Financial Services Committee Testimony, Relevant H.1343 "
as well as your name, address, phone number in the body of the email.

Written testimony is encouraged and will continue to be accepted after the hearing until the relevant bill is acted upon.  Those who plan to submit only written testimony may do so before or after the signup deadline.

Why is this Bill Important?

First - if we pass this bill, then those of you with an HMO insurance can drop your “backup” PCP for referrals
Second - if Massachusetts allows doctors to dispense medication directly from their offices, then we can order meds at wholesale prices and pass those savings on to you!
For example:  Dr Adriana Raus, a DPC doctor in Michigan, was able to order a 6 month supply of 7 medications for her patient for a  total price of $50.  At the pharmacy, it would have cost the patient $420.  That's a $370 savings for the patient!
