Hey First name / babe,
Â
I was speaking to a new client the other day and they want to quit their job.
Â
I've quit many jobs in my time, and where this may instil a rather sensible and healthy amount of fear into people…this is the point where I get excited.
Â
These moments are portals, you see. They are revealing something to you that you've probably known deep down for a while, but fear is keeping you stuck.
Â
It's like having one foot on the platform and one foot on the train and wondering why you're not going anywhere.Â
Â
Plus, it's an uncomfortable squeeze - or as my dear friend put it, 'it's the eye of the needle', it's the part where you know you need to leave the old way of being and long to live in the new way of being, but it's all jumbled up together.
Â
This is where the Three Doors come in.
Â
Door 1 - life as you know it. Choices and decisions you've made repeatedly, habitually, unconsciously. It's known, it's safe, and it's familiar. There are plenty of people who are quite happy with Door 1…but that's not you.
Â
Door 2 - the life you long for. The new way of living you have seen others achieve and dream of too. The side-project, the new hobby, the uplevel, the upgrade, the place you'd be if you just got on the train and let it pull out of the station.
Â
Door 3 - the unknown. The mystery, the people and places and opportunities you've not even realised were available to you.Â
Â
When you reach the ‘eye of the needle, ’ life is a mix of Door 1 and Door 2, and it's so easy to hang out here (albeit painfully) for a while. It's the dance, the hokey-kokey of back and forth.
Â
The thing is, Door 2 won't fully open until Door 1 is closed. And the ONLY way to access Door 3 is by opening Door 2 fully.
Â
It's scary. It's amazing. It's what it's all about (to quote the hokey-kokey again).
Â
If this sounds like you, know you're not alone. In fact, you're in good company as you've joined a long line of humans over millennia (at a guess) who have been in this exact spot.
Â
The good thing is, you don't have to do it alone.
Â
I'm speaking at a panel tonight, and they asked us about an offer for the attendees. I'm offering a free power-hour session. And thought, why not offer it to you lot too, being that you kindly let me into your inbox every week.
Â
What is a power-hour? It's one hour, one issue, just you and me, hashing it out. No sign-up or lock-in to anything else. Just
follow the link and book in.Â
It can be on anything, but it can definitely be about helping you open Door 2.
Â
Always cheering you on.
