Hey First name / friends!

Last week, I shared about my most recent collab (my travel towel with Buvanha) which has been over a year in the making, and I got a lot of questions about what went down behind-the-scenes.

I think it's important to be an open book about these kinds of things since there's a serious lack of transparency in the surface design world. So I wrote a blog post detailing the entire process from sketch to final product!

You'll learn why I opted for a commission structure (which I don't normally do), what inspired the design, the original concepts I sent to the brand, and how the whole process shook out over the course of a year!

Camping
Speaking of fun collaborations, this week's autumnal challenge is inspired by a motif of mine that has been getting licensed a lot – camping!

As the weather cools down, plenty of people are hitting the road to get out in nature and peep the changing leaves!

My take on this motif was to design retro-inspired camper vans to tap into the retro trend that's having a moment right now.

These campers have been getting picked up for licensing as well as more traditional camping icons like tents, campfires, and trees.

Here's a snap of my niece, Aurora, and I wearing matching Retro Roadrip aprons from a recent collab with Transpac Wholesale!
