Hey First name / friend

Just about everyone loves a good ‘ole cup of coffee sometimes, but your morning bean juice might be brewed in endocrine disruptors, sweetened with gut disruptors, and served up with a splash of mold. ☕ YUM, right?

So today we’re bringing all the facts to the table… because your coffee ritual should fuel you, not slowly drain you!

Here’s what’s really going on behind the scenes:

☠️ Conventional Coffee Beans
Coffee is one of the most heavily sprayed crops in the world. Unless it’s organic or regenerative, it may come with residues of:
Chlorpyrifos – a pesticide linked to neurodevelopmental issues
Glyphosate – a probable carcinogen that also disrupts gut bacteria
Imidacloprid + other neonicotinoids – toxic to bees and potentially human reproduction
Ochratoxin A – a mycotoxin (mold byproduct) that can damage kidneys, impair immune function, and may be carcinogenic

Even if your beans are labeled “mold-free,” testing standards vary wildly… so don’t assume it’s clean just because the company says so.

☕️ Traditional Coffee Makers
Most standard coffee machines (even the high-end ones) use plastic reservoirs, tubing, and spouts. When heated (especially repeatedly), these components can leach:
BPA, BPS, and other bisphenols
Phthalates
Microplastics
Flame retardants (often found in black plastic parts)

These aren’t just buzzwords… they’re known endocrine disruptors that can interfere with hormone balance, fertility, metabolism, and long-term health. And guess what? Most people are heating these plastics and consuming the water daily.

🥛 Conventional Creamers
Even “natural” ones often contain:
Artificial flavors – a catch-all term that can hide a variety of concerning ingredients
Carrageenan – linked to gut inflammation in several studies
Low-quality seed oils (like canola or sunflower) – highly processed and often oxidized
Natural flavors – undisclosed and potentially processed with solvents or additives

What I Use Instead

My go-to coffee swap is Makor — mold-free, organically grown, 3rd party tested, + roasted in a way that preserves the full integrity of the beans. It also tastes amazing… smooth, rich, and not bitter at all. But what really makes Makor special is the added superfoods: medicinal mushrooms, dandelion root, and chicory for digestion, stress resilience, and gut support.

I’ve always brewed mine in a glass pour-over or stainless steel French press, but I’m SO excited that Simply Good Coffee is finally releasing an automatic machine that:

🚫 Has no plastic touching water or coffee
✅ Uses stainless steel for all tubing and heating
✅ Has a glass pot and reservoir
✅ Is designed for clean, simple, actually safe function

It’s a game changer if you’ve been wanting a hands-off machine without microplastic risk. It’s available for preorder now and the current batch ships in October. (you know I already secured mine!)

When it comes to creamer… I’m a simple gal.
I LOVE to froth together raw milk, maple syrup, vanilla extract, and either ceylon cinnamon or raw cacao. It’s nutrient-dense, delicious, and additive free. Sometimes I add protein powder too, I have my favorites linked here.

TLDR: If coffee is part of your everyday life, it deserves more than blind trust. Clean up your coffee. Swap your machine. Simplify your add-ins. Your body will thank you.
xoxo,
Toxin Free Tay
