Wondering when to visit?

Argentina is a year-round destination, but the best time to visit depends on your interests and the regions you plan to explore. Summer (December to February) is ideal for visiting Patagonia and the Lake District, with long days and mild temperatures perfect for outdoor activities. However, this is also peak tourist season in popular areas. Late February and March (when everyone is wondering where to go), things start cooling off. It's best to avoid January, as most of Argentina is on holiday at that time.

For a more tranquil experience with pleasant weather, consider visiting in spring (September to November) or autumn (March to May). You'll enjoy smaller crowds and the beauty of blooming jacaranda trees or fall foliage in wine country.

Winter (June to August) is great for skiing in the Andes and viewing wildlife in Peninsula Valdés. It's also a good time to explore the northern regions and Iguazu Falls, where temperatures remain warm. But best to avoid Patagonia at this time.

HIGHLIGHTS
Summer In Argentina
Buenos Aires: Just do it
Elegant and electric, Buenos Aires blends Belle Époque grandeur with creative pulse. Wander Palermo’s leafy cafés and design stores, San Telmo’s markets, and Recoleta’s boulevards before dinner and tango. Stay at Alvear Palace Hotel for classic glamour or Jardin Escondido (a Coppola Hideaway) for cinematic soul.

Iguazú Falls: Nature’s Spectacle
Follow jungle catwalks on the border of Argentina and Brazil to witness 275 cascades, including the mighty Devil’s Throat. Watch toucans and coatis in the rainforest and view both sides for the full panorama. Stay at Awasi Iguazú, tucked in the jungle at the base of the falls, or cross the border for a few nights to Belmond Hotel das Cataratas for above-the-action views and direct access inside the park. Completely different, and both completely unbelievable.

Patagonia: For Big-time Wow Affect
Base in El Calafate to explore Los Glaciares National Park—where Mount Fitz Roy and the Perito Moreno Glacier rise like monuments to nature. This is the wild side of Argentina: vast, cinematic, and humbling. Stay at Pristine El Calafate, where architecture meets raw landscape in surreal form, or venture deeper to Explora El Chaltén for remote hiking, glacier treks, and pure mountain immersion.

Northwest Argentina: High Desert Awe
The Salinas Grandes salt flats and the high-altitude Puna are otherworldly. Deserts that shift in color and silence, framed by small Andean villages and ochre canyons. Drive through Quebrada de Humahuaca and stay at Pristine Salinas Grandes, and watch the stars from your luxury dome tent open to endless white plains and some of the clearest desert skies in the world.

Mendoza: Vineyard Exploration
Cycle or ride horseback through vineyards framed by the Andes, tasting Malbec and other varietals along the way. Wine and dine, unwind with a wine spa treatment, or linger over an afternoon asado. Stay at Cavas Wine Lodge (now part of Awasi and as elegant as ever) or The Vines Resort & Spa for an unmistakably Argentine experience.
Good to know: Many hotels outside of the cities are all inclusive of experiences, meals, and transfers.

Argentina can be… complicated.
It’s vast, diverse, and full of moving parts. Having an expert assist in the planning here isn’t just nice, it’s incredibly valuable. Insider knowledge and strong local partnerships transform a trip from “the places were amazing but the logistics were a mess” to “I'm still speechless” weeks later.

Once you’ve experienced what a thoughtfully designed itinerary, with local teams working in harmony to make everything flow, can do, you’ll never want to travel any other way.

If Argentina’s been popping up in your mind, we should chat. I’d love you to experience it-- wild, gorgeous, and beautifully put together.
