EOCA is delighted to announce its autumn vote for project funding is now open. Eight vitally important shortlisted projects, from across the world, are hoping to secure funding of up to €30 000, and the association is asking the public to help choose which projects to support.
Following a record 342 applications for funding, every project has undergone rigorous checks and scoring, before also being vetted by a scientific panel, to ensure only the most impactful, from an environmental point of view, make it to the shortlist.
The projects have been split into two categories – ‘Water’ and ‘Wild Places’ - and are all focussing on very different problems. The common thread for all eight projects, however, is that each one is tackling an urgent conservation issue, is embedded within local communities on the ground, and is bringing people closer to nature.
The public vote is an important event in EOCA’s calendar, not only setting some of the work it is going to be supporting for the next few years, but also raising awareness about the breadth of issues that are being faced by communities, landscapes and wildlife around the world.
