Hi First name / friend,
We closed out Libra season with a revealing New Moon – one that illuminated where balance, harmony, and values are out of sync, especially within our relationships.
New Moons mark fresh beginnings, but they also follow endings – moments when light fades and we're asked to plant seeds and set intentions while moving through the dark. This one arrived a few weeks into Libra season, after we had already been working with Libra themes: weighing things out, trying to regain equilibrium, and renegotiating dynamics—with ourselves and others.
Now, the Sun moves into Scorpio, where it will be until November 21st – kicking off our annual descent into the underworld, where the veil is thin and shadows are easier to see.
I love this quote by Landon Parham:
“Life isn’t just about darkness and light. It’s about finding light in the darkness.”
That’s Scorpio’s essence in a nutshell.
This time of year invites us to go beneath the surface. Scorpio energy draws us toward what's hidden, feared, or taboo – not to torment us, but to remind us that lightness cannot exist without darkness. The darkness gives the light more depth and dimension.
I used to fear my dark side – my heavier thoughts, feelings, and experiences. I thought it meant something was wrong with me. But the older I get, the more I've learned to accept these parts of myself – even if still brings up shame at times. It's simply part of being human. Once you can face and accept the darker parts – of yourself and of life itself – you can appreciate the light even more.
Scorpio energy encourages us to face those dark corners. To feel our pain deeply. To extract truth. To transform. It grows power in the dark – through intensity, honesty, and regeneration.
Scorpio Core Themes
Transformation & Release: letting go of what no longer serves
Intimacy & Vulnerability: craves deeper honesty with self and others
Power & Control: noticing where we grip too tightly or give our power away
Secrets & Obsessions: what’s hidden comes to light, but watch for over fixation on things
Emotional Depth & Resilience: feeling deeply to heal more fully
We’ve actually been swimming in Scorpio waters for a while. Mars has been here all Libra season, joined by Mercury in early October, and Black Moon Lilith for the past few months. This lineup has pushed us to reclaim personal power, face truths we’ve been avoiding, and find resilience to take action on what's within our control.
And there's a key energy signature this year: each time a planet enters Scorpio, it squares Pluto in Aquarius – the planet of transformation in the sign of the collective. Intensifying the process. When the Sun enters Scorpio it will make that same square aspect – surfacing hidden fears, shadow patterns, and power dynamics within groups and relationships.
With all this Scorpio energy coming into focus, cold, hard, truths are rising. The question is: do you have the courage to act on what's bubbling up?
All three water signs – Cancer, Scorpio, and Pisces – are tuned to intuition and emotional sensitivity. During this season, our intuitive instincts heighten even more.
Especially this year because there is a Grand Water Trine in effect through early December, connecting Jupiter in Cancer, Saturn + Neptune in Pisces, and the Scorpio planets (Mars, Mercury, Lilith, and eventually the Sun). Talk about a powerful flow of energy.
This extended activation opens up emotional release, deep healing, intuitive guidance, aligned action, and increased psychic sensitivity. It's likely to feel pretty tender too.
We’re also entering Mercury’s retrograde shadow – preparing for the full retrograde from November 9–29, as Mercury travels back through early Sagittarius and late Scorpio. Expect revisitations to emotional truths, energy entanglements, and belief systems.
I'll leave you with a few journal prompts I'm noodling on during this time.
- What am I ready to transform, release, or outgrow on a soul level?
- What truth about myself and others am I finally ready to see with honesty?
- Where am I being asked to reclaim my power or show up with deeper vulnerability, even if it feels scary to reveal my truth?
