THE AUTUMNAL COLLECTION
It's my favorite time of year 🍂
For me, autumn is about turning inward and becoming more reflective.
As I wander through the mountains and savor the changing scenery,
I ponder how things can become more beautiful as they are dying.
I take in the crisp fall air, the soft song of chirping crickets,
the musky smell of decaying leaves, damp soil, and pine needles,
the array of goldenrod and asters.
In my studio, I cozy up in a big sweater,
wrap my hands around a hot mug of tea and turn up my favorite music.
Lately, it's been the new Anna Tivel and Flock of Dimes albums.
This time of year is always the most inspiring for me.
Paintings come more intuitively.
Poetry flows from my heart without effort.
I make lists of ideas and hope I'll find the time…
This collection is an ode to autumn and the Blue Ridge Mountains.
Lush and moody colors reflect the landscape that I now call home.
Loose and expressive brushstrokes capture emotion.
Salt experiments create rich texture and spontaneous blooming effects.
These paintings are intuitive, evocative and ethereal.
I hope they will remind you of the tenderness of a fleeting season
that is sure to touch your heart.
