Real (approachable) Style Advice for Real (grown-up) Women with Real (smart) Budgets |

Dear First name / friend, |
|
Coming to you on a cozy Sunday morning…the heat’s on, the coffee’s hot, and the Patriots play at 1—and shockingly, they don’t stink anymore. Life is good. While I do miss the activity of summer, I’m loving these sunny fall days and the slower pace (but still plenty going on). That’s one of the things I love most about Newport—it doesn’t shut down when the tourists leave. There’s such a fun “locals” vibe this time of year. And with Thanksgiving (my favorite holiday) just a month away, I’m already counting down the days until all three guys are home from Chicago for a full week. I hope this finds you well and enjoying these beautiful fall days. And since Halloween is coming up—confession time: I hate Halloween. Love the candy… not the holiday. How about you? 🎃🍫 But if you're looking for a couple's costume, I thought this was clever: |

1. The “Canadian Tuxedo” Gets a Modern Makeover 🤠 |
|
Remember when “the Canadian tuxedo” was a fashion don’t? Well, it’s back — and very much on trend now. The best part? I’m willing to bet you already have everything you need to create this look (and several versions of it). I shared a new reel showing how to wear denim on denim the modern way — and how simple swaps (belt, shoes, jacket) completely change the vibe. Maybe give it a try this week! |
|
Today’s also Day 14 in the Fall Style System: Neutral Column of Color + Statement Accessory. I decided to use denim on denim as my base for this prompt — it’s technically a “neutral column” (denim is neutral in my book;) and the perfect foundation to show how accessories can completely change the look. |

3. This Week's Random Find - a STATEMENT SWEATER |
|
One of the items on the Fall Style System checklist is an optional one—but one I’ve been on the hunt for: a statement sweater. I tend to wear mostly solids, but with the festive season coming, it’s nice to have a sweater that can stand on its own—a little pattern, a little interest, and a touch of spark without going overboard. I’ve tried a few others, but this one’s a keeper—and affordable to boot. The key with any “statement” piece is making sure it’s not a one-hit wonder. Don’t buy it unless you can think of at least 2–3 ways to wear it. At first, I had my eye on the brown-and-green version, but after doing my own little wardrobe exercise, I realized the black-and-green one works better with what I already own: black pants (dressy and casual), cream, denim, and even olive. And since I can “cheat” and treat the black as dark brown (and it has brown buttons) it’ll work with my brown boots too. So before you hit Add to Cart (Mr. Bezos makes it way too easy), take a minute and make sure you can wear it in multiple ways, for multiple occasions. That’s how you turn a cute sweater into a real wardrobe MVP. |

And if patterns aren't your thing, here's a solid sweater with interesting details to make it more of a statement (comes in several neutrals and a pretty blue): |

That's it for today…now go enjoy the rest of your weekend! Thanks for being here..I truly appreciate you! |

Have a great week ahead, and remember to #justgetdressed. ✅👍🏼 |
