Tourism in Coventry enjoyed a record-breaking year as the value of the city’s visitor economy hit £922.9 million in 2024.
 
More than 400,000 additional visitors flocked to the city as the sector saw strong growth for a fourth successive year.
 
New research shows that 11.8 million people visited Coventry in 2024, an increase of 3.6 per cent on the previous year, with the total value of the visitor economy rising by £67.9 million to a new record high.
 
The sector now supports 8,116 jobs and continues to drive confidence and investment across the city, including a pipeline of new accommodation projects that will expand Coventry’s bed stock by five per cent.
 
Growth has continued across all key metrics, with a 14 per cent rise in the value of overnight stays, while day visits continue make up 88 per cent of total trips.
 
Visitor spending patterns highlight that food and drink businesses remain the largest contributor to Coventry’s visitor economy, equating to 33 per cent of all direct expenditure, with retail representing a further 29 per cent.

The Great Blitz Build call out
Coventry City Council is inviting you to take part in a unique and powerful creative project this November. You can do this as a family, a school, a community group, a faith group or even on your own.
 
Join internationally acclaimed artist Olivier Grossetête and his team in constructing a spectacular large-scale cardboard structure that commemorates the 85th Coventry Blitz and celebrates the community spirit that helped rebuild the city.
 
We welcome participation from:
  • community groups, schools, families, and individuals
  • people aged 10 and over (all children must be accompanied by a responsible adult).
No prior experience needed just bring your enthusiasm and willingness to get stuck in!
 
Workshop details
Dates: 10 to 15 November 2025
Location: Drapers’ Hall, Bayley Lane, Coventry City Centre – this is a fully accessible venue
Sessions: 2 workshops daily between 9.30am to 1pm, 12pm to 3.30pm and 5.30pm to 9pm
Duration: Approx. 3.5 hours per session
Capacity: Up to 45 participants per session
Participants are welcome to attend 1 or multiple workshops.

coventry peace festival
Coventry’s annual Peace Festival returns this November, celebrating the city’s ongoing commitment to peace, tolerance and friendship.
 
Taking place from 1 to 16 November, this year’s Festival reflects Coventry’s proud role as a City of Peace and Reconciliation, with two weeks of inspiring events and activities which are free to attend.
 
This year’s programme marks a particularly poignant milestone – the 85th anniversary of the Coventry Blitz – with events and activities reflecting on the city’s resilience, creativity and community spirit.
 
A highlight will be a monumental installation in the city centre, inspired by Coventry Cathedral using 1,300 specially made cardboard boxes crafted by people of Coventry. Standing around 20 metres tall, the structure will symbolise unity, remembrance and hope.
 
The Lord Mayor’s Peace Lecture, delivered by Mandy Sanghera OBE, international human rights activist, will take place on Thursday 6 November at Coventry Cathedral. Her talk will explore her pioneering work supporting victims of honour-based violence and cultural abuse, and how communities can stand together against injustice.

Coventry BID, in partnership with the Telegraph Hotel, carried out a successful litter pick on Wednesday. We were delighted to be joined by 47 colleagues from a fantastic range of city centre businesses, including The Lower Precinct, Primark, HSBC, Lloyds, Nationwide, CV1 Menswear, Yorkshire Building Society, Virgin Money, The Skydome, Phone Zone, CGL, CV One Night Clubs, The Entertainer, Lush, Boots, Trespass, and New Look.
 
It was great to see so many people come together to show that they care about Coventry and take pride in maintaining high standards across our city centre.
 
Amy Windsor, General Manager of the Telegraph Hotel, said:
“As a proud member of the Coventry community, we’re always looking for ways to give back. Taking part in the litter pick with Coventry BID is a simple but meaningful way to show our support for keeping our city looking its best for residents, visitors and businesses alike, and helping to assist with our local environment.”

Nationwide Dementia Clinics

Anyone who is caring for someone who has dementia or lives with the diagnosis themselves, can book a free 45-minute appointment with a dementia specialist Admiral Nurse for expert, tailored support, whatever their questions or concerns. You do not need to be a Nationwide customer to book an appointment, everyone is welcome.
 
All appointments are confidential and will take place in a private space within the Nationwide branch. Dementia clinics are being held at over 200 Nationwide branches across the UK and will next take place at Nationwide,  62-64 Broadgate, Coventry CV1 1NF on the 25th, 26th and 27th November.
 
Admiral Nurses offer advice and support with any aspect of dementia, including:
  • worries about memory problems and other possible symptoms of dementia
  • how to get a diagnosis
  • understanding the diagnosis and how the condition progresses
  • practical tips for caring for someone who lives with dementia
  • adapting to and coping with changes in behaviour
  • financial and legal issues
  • transitions in care, including moving into residential care
  • emotional support, including anticipatory grief, bereavement and loss
