Titan Nation, True North Classical Academy's vision is to create lifelong learners whose passions align to their purpose in the pursuit of the True, Good, and Beautiful. To fulfill this, we expose our scholars to a rigorous curriculum, various types of extracurricular activities and service opportunities, and leadership development programs. As a result, our scholars become accustomed to and start to desire things of higher nature. This week was no different. Our scholars participated in a series of events and activities that left them desiring more. Their efforts were not only extraordinary, but were also brought to the attention of state and national leaders – an incredible accomplishment by itself. Below is your Weekly Scroll: |

True North Classical Academy DECA Chapter |
|
The True North Classical Academy DECA Chapter had an extremely active week. Over the weekend, our scholars participated in the Envision Fall Leadership Conference in Tampa, Florida – the kick-off event for the DECA membership year. At the conference, our scholars networked with Fortune 500 companies, attended workshops, and took part in various competitions and team-building activities. Upon their return to South Florida, our scholars attended DECA's Leadership Conference Breakfast at the Rusty Pelican, where they had the opportunity to network with scholars from other district chapters who will be competing against them throughout the year. During the breakfast, our scholars participated in a long standing DECA trading tradition with their fellow members and heard from the President and CEO of the Mosaic Group, Ann Marie Sorell. Every Monday during lunch, DECA will be selling Dippin’ Dots to raise funds for the chapter. If you’re interested in supporting this club, be sure to purchase a pack of ice cream for $5. |

True North Classical Academy, Gateway, hosted a delegation of over a dozens state Senators and Representatives from Oklahoma. They were exploring the benefits of parental school choice in our community and True North was recommended as a model school for them to visit. They were accompanied with leadership members from the American Federation for Children Growth Fund (AFCGF), and Step Up for Students (SUFS). The visit included stops in several classrooms, where scholars in different grade levels showcased their math, reading, writing, and memory work skills. The event concluded with a brief presentation from True North Classical Academy’s Executive Director, Paul Powell, and Head of Schools, Jeanine Finlay. At True North, success is not the result of shortcuts. Rather, it is the natural byproduct of a rich and meaningful curriculum that requires hard work, dedication, and strong instructional support. It was an honor to share our model and contribute to the cultivation of well-formed human beings who are morally serious, intellectually prepared, and physically disciplined. |

True North Historical Festival |
|
One of the most anticipated events of the year is our Historical Festival, where each grade brings a specific time period to life. From the Greeks to the modern age of computers, our scholars outdo themselves each year with their renditions. When combined, all of the representations create a unique and immersive walk-through history. As a classical education school, we ensure that our scholars take a deep dive into world history from an early age. This creates a strong foundational understanding of the connection between history and the liberal arts. |
