First 1k !

First thousand users!
What an incredible milestone! We're thrilled to announce that in less than a year, the Gestic.org community has grown beyond 1,000 active users. It's fantastic to see such a diverse group of collectors joining us – from those just starting out to enthusiasts managing impressive collections of over 100,000 cards.
The engagement with our features is equally exciting. Our scanning tool saw tremendous activity just last weekend, processing over 10,000 cards! We built Gestic.org with the collector community in mind, and seeing it embraced so enthusiastically truly means the world to us.
A huge thank you to every one of you for being part of this amazing journey!
Maintenance Status
We're excited to announce that we're planning a major network upgrade for Monday, November 24, 2025, between 11:00 AM and 4:00 PM EST (16:00 - 21:00 UTC).

Why? This maintenance will allow us to boost network speeds by 10x and add new fail-over options, making Gestic.org much faster and more reliable for everyone.

What to Expect To make these improvements, the Gestic.org site will be offline during this 5-hour maintenance window.

We'll work to be back online as quickly as possible. Thank you for your support as we continue to improve the platform!

What's New and Improved?

Pagination: Following our recent server-side caching deployment, we have now enabled full pagination for all user lists.
This two-part update dramatically improves performance. When you first load or filter a list, it is cached on the server. Subsequently, only the required page of data is sent to your browser.
This approach significantly reduces network traffic and front-end rendering time, making your list navigation experience much more responsive.
Scanner updates 1 / 3: We have added a configurable option to play a sound when you are scanning a valuable card. That way when using the automated scanner, you will easily know when to take a break to sleeve one card.
Scanner updates 2 / 3: We've heard your feedback! Many of you reported that the scanner sometimes struggled with card numbers—mistaking a 6 for an 8, or dropping the first digit. While image quality always plays a role, we confirmed that our existing OCR tools were having challenges.
So... we decided to build our own!
We’ve tried a few approaches and have now implemented a custom OCR solution that is producing impressive results. For good quality pictures, the numbers are now being recognized with near-perfect accuracy! This is a massive improvement for cataloging your collection.
We're still running it alongside our other two OCR tools to compare the outputs, but given the strong performance, we'll likely phase out the older tools in the coming months.
Scanner updates 3 / 3: We have enhanced our scanner's capabilities to now include support for cards from "The List." The scanner will automatically identify these cards during scanning.
The system is already fully functional and performing with high accuracy. We will continue to refine its recognition over time by expanding our training data.
This update makes Gestic.org one of the first, if not the only, scanners to offer this specific functionality, further streamlining your collection process.
Looking for - all sets: We've added a powerful new "All Sets" option for your want list. Sometimes you're looking for a very specific card, like an Urza's Saga Argothian Enchantress, to finish a set. Other times, you just need an Argothian Enchantress from any set for a new deck. Instead of having to add every single version, you can now simply activate the “All Sets” option for that card. Our search engine will then find all available versions, regardless of their set. (See below for more details)
Analytics: The analytics page got some more love, again! The price of the cards have now been added. Not only that! You can also now decide which lists you want to analyse!
Sets and lists filters: You'll soon start to see improvements to list and set selection across the site. While this update isn't live everywhere yet, you can already try it in the 'Generate' option and the 'Toolbox' filter. These tools now allow you to search by set name, set code, or even just a partial word, making it much faster and easier to find the set you're looking for.
And way more: As usual, lot of little things here and there, that we are making better.

Coming Next:

Local stores: We are soon going to add even more local stores in the system! Because this might overload the display, we are also going to implement an option to select the stores you want to look at.

As always, We Need Your Input!

  • Keep the Ideas Coming: Your feedback is crucial to Gestic's growth. What features are you enjoying? What can we improve? Many of our best features, like the card scanner, started as user suggestions! This month, the option to select which lists to look at in the Generate option was a user suggestion. Thanks a lot for that.
  • Help Us Expand Our LGS Network: Don't see your favorite local game store on Gestic? Let us know, and we'll work on adding it! This makes it easier than ever to find the cards you need locally.

Highlighted Feature of the Month: Looking For - All Sets

This month's highlighted feature is the new "All Sets" option for your "Looking For" lists. While "Looking For" is perfect for finding a specific card from a specific set, it used to be cumbersome if you needed any version of a card for a deck. Previously, you had to add every single print to your list.

Now, you can simply add one version of the card and tag it as “All Sets.” When you do this, our system will automatically show you all available prints of that card from the stores you've selected.

Here are the steps to use it, and what you'll see:
First, add the card you are looking for to your list. The set doesn't matter, just make sure the card name is correct.

Then, mouse-hover the price to get the edition popup and check the “All sets” option.

After checking the box, you will need to reload the page for the change to take effect. (We are working on making this refresh automatic in a future update.) Then, simply click on any store icon in that card's row to see all the available versions that have been found for you. Please note: Our system runs jobs to find these cards, so it may take 24-48 hours for new "All Sets" results to appear.

Your "Looking For" list will now display all available prints for cards you've tagged, without you having to add every single version. This should dramatically simplify your deck-building projects!

Thanks for being an incredible part of Gestic's journey. Your support means the world to us,
