Hey First name / friends!

If you've been around here for a while, you already know I'm a bit of an open book. I try my best to share freely about the things that have helped me grow as an artist. 🤗

And after 10 years in the industry, let's just say I have some tales to tell. 😅

Lately, it feels like there's been a lot of secrecy in the art licensing world. I've heard from countless artists who've shared that they feel like licensing is some secret, guarded club.

And that's just not my vibe. I believe that when we help each other grow, we all rise.

So I'm doing something new!

I'm starting an email series called Art Licensing Insiders exclusively for artists on the waitlist for my program The Art of Collections

You'll get the same kind of honest, transparent insights I share with my students inside my program, The Art of Collections. Think of it like a peek into what it's like to join the program and get these behind the scenes insights and help with your own business!

Each week, I’ll send an honest, unfiltered email sharing what’s really working in the art licensing world right now. From pitching and pricing to structuring your portfolio, collections, and the lessons I’ve learned (sometimes the hard way 😅).

No gatekeeping. Just real talk from someone who’s been growing and adapting in the industry for the past decade.

And listen, I know your inbox is a precious place. I'm going to do my best to keep these emails bite-sized so they don't feel like a chore to read.

You’ll not only get these exclusive behind-the-scenes emails, but also early access when The Art of Collections opens again next year and first dibs on bonus goodies.

(Oh, and whether you plan to join The Art of Collections program or not, you're welcome to sign up to get this special series!)

Mini Pattern
This week's prompt was going to be “mushrooms”, but I realized I already did that prompt earlier this year! I don't want to double dip, so I decided to switch it up.

The reason I chose mushrooms was because I have a tiny mushroom pattern that is really simple but has done really well for me. It got picked up for licensing almost instantly after I added it to my licensing portfolio.

Here's the reason it took off so quickly:

Trending motif (mushrooms) + simple & versatile pattern = widely applicable on products

But rather than having you just design a mushroom pattern this week, your prompt is to make your own mini pattern using this formula.

You can pick whatever you want as your trending motif. Here's a list of ideas if you need something to spark your creativity!
  • Mushrooms
  • Cowboy boots
  • Pumpkins
  • Flowers
  • Bows
  • Coffee
  • Lemons
