This space is truly so meaningful to me as it's essentially everything I've been building over the past years, except in this case, it's in the form of an accessible, self-paced digital environment and course for creatives, helping them gain clarity and build their own brands with purpose.
Today, I thought I would take the time to answer some questions that community members asked over on my Instagram stories – in case you were curious as well :)
Who is Cultivating the Brand good for?
— Cultivating the Brand was designed with three types of people in mind.
1. The DIY creative who wants to keep control of their brand-building process and ultimately create it themselves from a place that feels guided. It provides them with the thought process, considerations and tools they need to create from start to finish.
2. For brand and web designers who are looking to gain further insight into an all-encompassing brand storytelling approach so that they can apply the same foundation and framework when moving through their branding-building process.
And 3. For any entrepreneur in the creative industry who's navigating a rebrand and wants to gain clarity on who they are, where they want their brand to be, and ultimately, how to get there. This workshop provides clarity and practical insights into how to start thinking about a brand right from the beginning.
Is there a community aspect involved?
— There is no current community aspect included in the beta offer (except for the bonus 1:1 opportunity). However, this is something that I've been contemplating adding (something maybe like a Slack/Discord or private community where you can continuously ask questions, upload content, get feedback, etc.), so depending on the insights from everyone, a community element could very well be added. If you join the beta offer, you'll have access to that addition!
Does the course cover the operational side of things like emails/client workflows etc?
— Cultivating the Brand currently does not cover the more operational side of things, although if this is something that creatives in the beta experience think would be beneficial, that is definitely something I would be open and excited to add, as I already have a whole ongoing Notion dashboard with operational tidbits and resources! Again, if you join the beta round, you will gain access to these new additions!
Do I need any design or strategy experience to join?
— Not at all 🤍 This space is more about perspective shifts and practical ways for you to approach your own brand build in a way that feels accessible and thoughtful. Instead of technical tutorials (like teaching you Illustrator lol ew), we focus more on changing how you think about brand expression in general.
Does the course apply to those who might still want to outsource in the future?
— Yes! Although it's designed to help you approach your brand yourself, the entire space is meant to help you change the way you THINK about your brand expression, which can apply to all areas of your brand in the future. The biggest benefit for those who don't plan on creating their own logo/website at the end of this will be that they now have a clear and aligned understanding of what they want for their brand and the types of considerations that can help them get closer to that version of it.
This means that when you do eventually collaborate with a designer or strategist, you’ll have a clear, aligned vision and language to communicate what you truly want :)
Will I get feedback on my brand?
— Yes ✨ — as part of the beta offer, you’ll also get a 1:1 reflection call with me where we can go over your questions, ideas, and any parts of your process you’d like feedback on (one of my absolute favourite ways to connect).
What do you need from those who join the beta offer?
— The intention of offering a beta experience is so that I can work closely with a select few creatives who are committed to working through the course content while providing their honest and thoughtful insights in return so that I can refine the workshop based on real feedback. They get exclusive access to the material, have a direct say in what they would like added, and can connect with me 1:1 to talk about their own brands.
Essentially, this is how the feedback portion works:
For anyone enrolled in the beta offer, it’ll be helpful to send in regular check-ins throughout the process – sharing their thoughts, what’s been resonating, what they’ve enjoyed, or anything that comes to mind as they move through the course. At the end, everyone will have a 1:1 call to chat through their overall experience – what they loved, ideas they have, things that may not have been included but they'd like to see, or any questions about their own brand.
From there, I’ll take all of the feedback and refine the course. Once updates and new additions are made, they’ll have access to everything 🙂
