Maybe it’s the moodier weather, the change of season or the need to be indoors more, but I’m definitely more introspective and reflective this time of year. It's time to go inwards, get cosy and stay close to home.
Recently I’ve returned to a simple practice that I’ve done (and shared) many many times before; it’s the minutes-long morning task of asking myself two very simple questions – How am I feeling? and What do I need?
If you’re inclined to retreat a little this time of year and want to reconnect to what you really need, this practice will be a friend. The key is to write your answers down – and whatever you say you need; you must commit to meeting that need.
This practice will settle your nervous system, keep you grounded, and help you build deep self-trust over time. A few years ago I created a podcast episode about this practice, I've popped a link to it below for you…
I've been working on something very special. It's inspired in part by my Rewriters alumni who continue to build lives and careers they actually want, not ones they’ve been told they should want.
It’s also inspired by my little book club, the Good Vibes Bookclub, which I run from my home once a quarter. The bookclub has quickly become one of the social activities I look forward to most – a small gathering of curious, open-minded and open-hearted women who come together to talk about books of course, but also life, marriage, ageing, mothering, careers, fears and so much more. I love having this connection and community.
I’ve realised in building Rewrite these past (almost) 6 years, that the type of career change I do is life-long and life-changing. It’s not quick-fix, CV-tweaking, job-changing stuff; it’s challenging and changing the way people think about how they live and work - and giving them the tools and support to do it their way. That takes time.
And so, to support people who want to create lasting and sustainable career change, supported by a community who ‘get it’, I’ve built The Rewriters Community.

The Rewriters Community is a membership for people who want deep, life-transforming change - and want to walk alongside other people committed to building the same.
It will include monthly accountability sessions for us to stay on track with our goals, special events and seasonal workshops, quarterly 1:1s with me for focused support, and a growing resources library to dip in and out of whenever you need to (one that you can help build, by simply telling me what you need).
There will be a special Founding Members rate for our first community members, so if you think you might like to be a part of that group, keep your eyes peeled for further details hitting inboxes soon. You can also email me directly and let me know if you'd like an early membership preview 👀, I'd be happy to share some behind the scenes details with you.
One final bit of news…
A brand-new episode of The Rewriters podcast is out tomorrow!HOW TO SURVIVE REDUNDANCY is for anyone who is experiencing redundancy or knows someone who is. During the episode I share my 4-point framework for not just surviving redundancy, but thriving after it:
FORTIFY
