Dear First name / Fellow Dreamer,
My initial intention for League of Pandas was to do a straightforward campaign with no stretch goals.
No stretch goals. No crazy bells and whistles. I wanted to focus on taking care of my energy and dedicating my efforts to bringing forth the best deck set - as well as creating a user-friendly, imaginative and amazing experience for people who are going to be using this deck.
The one thing I said to myself over and over again was: don't create extra work for yourself just to make your campaign exciting. Stick to the plan. Stay grounded.
I did not stick to the plan.
Because as my creative engine started firing and my visions started flowing, I ran away with those visions with little consideration towards the consequences. (I did trim down the stretch goals, so I did try…but it clearly wasn't enough💀)
I really, REALLY wanted this campaign to exceed all expectations. I wanted to prove that I could weather any storm and still deliver a kick-ass campaign. As a result, I neglected the promises I made to myself and went ahead to create a set of stretch goals that were completely ungrounded in reality.
In the end, I decided to cancel them altogether. Staring at those stretch goals made me feel desperate, like I was reaching too far and too fast. As much as I wanted to create a Kickstarter campaign that's "to infinity and beyond", I did not have the bandwidth to tackle those stretch goals.
Ironically, this is the Panda Lesson, happening right as I'm launching my League of Pandas, with the message to level up, to dream and to create…while walking the way of the panda. Of course this is my lesson. Duh. What I create always end up creating me (and teaching me) in some way.
The Panda Lesson, of course, is to honor the seasons and cycles that I'm in right now, to choose the best speed and best mode for conquering life, and to treat myself with a lot of love and care while embarking on the journey of dreaming, becoming and transformation ✨
And don't get me wrong - I'm still an ambitious girlie and I'm driven AF…but I'm learning to navigate my creative conquests with more self-awareness, groundedness & discipline.
Indeed, rather than launching an explosion of spells into the sky to randomly manifest…it's better to project a single beam of ultra-focused magical sparkles towards my desired outcome to have a more powerful effect! 🌈✨
And that's how the lesson of the panda rolls!
