2026 TRAVEL TRENDS

Trends we’re ready to say buh-bye to, First name / friend?

AI videos everywhere.

Limited-edition gallon sized Stanley cups.
Is anyone really drinking all that water?? (who can possibly spend that much time searching for a rest room.)

Pretending “Bleisure” is relaxing.  Working from a resort, well, that's still … working.

Not all trends require you to over hydrate, especially when it comes to travel.

The latest data shows travelers are spending more, staying longer, and seeking experiences that are personal and purposeful.

And honestly, what’s more on-trend than exploring the world?

Film-Inspired Travel

Call it the White Lotus effect. Travelers are booking trips inspired by their favorite shows and movies — from Outlander’s castles in Scotland to Thailand’s island resorts. The screen-to-suitcase trend shows no signs of slowing, as travelers chase the real-life scenery that steals every scene.

I have to admit that White Lotus Thailand did not do Thai tourism any favors in my opinion.  Did anyone else find it totally creepy?
Multi-Gen & Family Trips

Family travel is officially back on the rise! These trips are less about logistics and more about legacy: parents, kids, and grandparents reconnecting. Think villa rentals, yachts, cruises, dude ranches, and multi-room resorts that make togetherness easy but not overwhelming.

It can be tough to convince the teens and 20 something's to hang out with the old folks sometimes, but a great vacation on YOUR credit card is excellent “bait” .
“Calm”-Cations

Quiet, nature-based trips (fishing, hiking, foraging, bird-watching) are gaining traction, along with the rise of “farm charm”: unplugged stays that bring people closer to the land. Destinations like the Greenland, Bhutan, or even rural U.S. retreats are perfect for those ready to slow down, breathe, and truly rest.

I put safaris in this group too.

I hope you're curled up by a fireplace with your holiday decor twinkling in the background.

I hope your laptop is shut and your notifications are on mute.

I hope you get to eat cookies all week while watching cheesy holiday movies on repeat.

…AND HOPEFULLY, A SMALL BREAK??

But if you are reading this… I want you to know how grateful I am to have you here, in this little corner of the internet I've carved out.

However you celebrate the season, I hope you get some much deserved rest before we all collectively jump into the new year!

XO,Jackie
