Greenwich stakeholders are working to address the impacts to SNAP as a result of the Government shutdown and H.R. 1. We are hosting Greenwich's Response To SNAP in order to:
  • Build connectivity 
  • Gain clarity on the different responses
  • Identify gaps in response and how can we fill them
  • Learn what people are experiencing and better understand impacts

1.) Government shutdown: SNAP benefits for 360,000 people statewide and 1,535 individuals in Greenwich are uncertain. 
 
2.) H.R. 1 (the “One Big Beautiful Bill Act”) As of November the policy changes due to the passage of H.R. 1 are having widespread impact ranging from loss of benefits due to changes in work requirements and other measures. In Greenwich - 223 families are expected to lose $25+/monthly benefits.
