Titan Nation,

 

St. Thomas Aquinas stated, “there is nothing more to be prioritized on this earth than true friendship.” As Titans, we build friendships rooted in shared values and principles. This sense of comradery and belonging cannot be forced or created out of convenience. The results are extraordinary and are the reason behind our continuous success. 

 

This week, we worked together, as a group, and relied on our community and the results were simply terrific. From a historic visit to our schools from the Kern Foundation, to culminating an undefeated season with a championship win, to improving our professional skills for the greater good of our students – our ability to work together as Titans guided us to success.

True North Classical Academy

Dadeland & Sunset Tours 

We are proud to share that this year, The Kern Foundation hosted their Character Conference in Miami to tour more than 40 higher education and K–12 leaders through our schools. Leaders from across the nation toured our Sunset and Dadeland campuses to witness our school culture, which is grounded in virtue, and the richness of our curriculum. Their day began with morning assembly led by our Philosophy faculty member, Mr. Patricio Mendez, on the topic of Logic as a Liberal Art. After a series of classroom visits, our founder, Mr. Michael Bileca, led a presentation that highlighted our school's mission, vision, and results - all of which aim to create morally centered individuals with a thirst for the higher things in life.

 

The following day, our school had the pleasure of hosting the Charter School Growth Fund, who traveled to Miami alongside 42 charter school leaders from high performing schools that were eager to learn more about how we achieve best in the county academic results in a culture that values character. While at True North, they visited dozens of classrooms across our schools. They were incredibly impressed with our faculty, students, and approach to education.

 

As Florida's top-performing network of charter schools, we are always honored to share our programs and practices to help impact the lives of scholars nationwide. Our vision is, and will always be, to unleash a thirst for knowledge within students, and this remains true for everyone visiting our schools. Our hope is that these visits help restore education to its noble purpose of creating good citizens who find truth, goodness, and beauty in the world.

Our biggest fundraiser of the year is around the corner! 

 

Last year, thanks to the generosity of our leadership, faculty, staff, parents, students, and friends, we surpassed our $365,000 goal. This year, we invite you to join us again in making an even greater impact for our students and our community as we have increased our goal to $400,000. Support our fundraising efforts by creating an individual fundraiser, joining your class team, making individual donations, or just spreading the word.

Florida Charter Institute:

True North Classical Academy Teachers

A group of True North Classical Academy teachers attended a workshop on the Science of Reading hosted by the Florida Charter Institute (FCI). Our President, Michael Bileca, helped found  FCI and it provides leadership and teacher training throughout Florida.

 

During the workshop, they learned from subject-matter experts on a series of topics, including background knowledge, fluency, attention-building, and the connection between writing and reading with a focus on strategies beyond early-grade phonics.

 

Our school has some of the best educators in the state and nation. Their ability and desire to continually improve their skills and knowledge are a testament to their dedication to forming the future leaders of tomorrow.

 

Middle School Football Team 

Our Middle School Football Team are back-to-back Tri-County Champions!

 

Our athletes faced Ransom Everglades and won a hard-fought match, 30–16. In addition to defending their title, our Titans recorded another undefeated season. 

 

Congratulations, athletes! What an incredible way to finish your season #TitanStrong.

Girls Cross Country Team 

Our True North Cross Country team is finishing their historic season in dominating fashion.

 

For the first time in Titan history, our Girls Cross Country High School team are District Champions! This incredible accomplishment could not have been possible without hours of dedication. Throughout the season, our Titans demonstrated their level of athleticism, professionalism, and grit.
