I began to realize if you give people the spark of possibility that spark becomes a big flame of hope
Jose Andres
Hi First name / Beautiful Friend,

Last night I watched the Chef's Table: Legends.  It is a 4-part series that features one legendary chef in each episode. All the episodes were fantastic, however, the episode with Jamie Oliver, and more importantly Jose Andres knocked it out of the park.  Besides their food, and innovation, they both have a drive to do good in the world and to create a legacy they are proud of.  I wanted to share something Jamie and Jose said that I wrote down about the human spirit, our connection and our impact in the world.

Yes- I am that person- the one who writes down ideas regardless of where I am or what I am doing- even while relaxing with a glass of wine watching a show about cooking!

One Small Act
Jamie Oliver reached culinary success at a fairly young age but regardless of whether he was at the top or bottom of his twisting and turning cooking career he always wanted to change things for the better- make cooking real food relateable, getting our kids healthier, fresh food at schools, or helping underprivileged teens find purpose in the kitchen through his restaurant Eleven.

He always asked, “What am I going to do to change things.” but what struck me even more was that he said, “One small things can make beautiful things happen.”

What I loved about Jamie's story on Chef's Table was the reminder that we can always make a difference and should invest in people - and when we do what we love or do something to give back or help others we will always inspire someone else to do something they may not have felt brave enough to do without your example. As Jamie said, it's about the ripple.”

What ripple are you making in the world- from your home to your community or church to your office or platform? This is how we create a lasting legacy.

Spark of Possibility
The other chef's story that I wanted to share with you was about Spanish born Jose Andres.  He is someone who has married food, curiosity and challenging the status quo of food to create unexpected food journeys for diners. Josie said, “I had my creativity inside me I needed to express.” This is true for every human whether we are expressing it or not.

And that would have been enough for me to already like him, but in 2010 he started World Central Kitchen, a non-profit that feeds people when there is disaster or crisis.  As Jose said, ‘when people are hungry, send in cooks.  Not tomorrow, today."  It’s so powerful.

Before he started WCK he was on a trip when Haiti was hit with a devastating earthquake and Joses was not far away so he decided to go there to see it for himself. He soon realized he could gather up pots, pan and use a fire to start feeding people and locals started to pitch in and help. He realized something powerful about it.  He said, “I began to realize if you give people the spark of possibility that spark becomes a big flame of hope.”

As he reflected on his culinary career and his humanitarian efforts he also shared something I think we often forget, “The best moments of my life always happen at the end of my comfort zone.”  Yes. This! I've shared many times before how important it is that we get uncomfortable because that is where we will be stretched and grow- it's when we go beyond what we know -we often find something unexpected- a connection, a breakthrough, a innovation, a renewed faithfulness, a new way of doing something.

I am super excited that next week I will be sharing with you a super early Black Friday deal on all my upcoming mini-courses and offers. They are going to be so powerful and a perfect thing to gift to yourself and a loved one this year.

Why Do I Send Emails Like This?

Many of us reach a point where life looks “fine” on the outside — but something inside us feels faded, hurried, or out of sync and ideas, words, conversations and learning can help to inspire us to make a change or shift something in our lives.

Faith-Fueled Living was born out of my own season of rediscovery — the moment I stopped chasing expectations and started listening to God’s whisper again. When I started rebuilding my life around what matters most to me and going towards my passions, purpose and what I was created to do.

Now, I walk with women who are ready to remember who they are, what they love, and what God still has next. Through simple, soul-stirring courses, devotionals, and conversations,, we clear the noise, rekindle joy, and create space for purpose, peace, and passion to bloom again.
All guest episodes will be added over the next month
