The December Edit: Reflecting, Celebrating, and Designing with Meaning

As the year comes to a close, we’re taking a moment to pause, reflect, and celebrate the stories our spaces tell. This season isn’t just about decorating for the holidays—it’s about surrounding ourselves with pieces that remind us of where we’ve been and where we’re headed next.

Whether it’s the ornament passed down from a loved one, the vintage chair that finally found its perfect corner, or the cozy nook where countless memories have unfolded—design has the power to hold emotion and tell your story.

Designing with Meaning: Spaces that Tell Your Story
This year, we were reminded again and again that great design is deeply personal. A well-curated room doesn’t just look beautiful—it feels like you.

Celebrate milestones: Frame that family photo, display the travel mementos that make you smile, or style a shelf around a meaningful object.

Evoke emotion through placement: The flow of a space can affect how we feel in it. Try grouping personal items together to create small “story moments.”

Mix new with nostalgic: Holiday décor doesn’t have to be brand new—sometimes, the most meaningful pieces are the ones that carry history.

Team Reflections: What Inspired Us Most This Year

Jess: “I loved seeing how clients embraced personality this year—bold color, meaningful art, and rooms that truly tell their story.”

Nathalia: “Working on spaces that evolve with families has been so rewarding. Homes aren’t static—they grow and change just like we do.”

Lizzie: “Watching ideas move from sketches to lived-in, loved-in spaces has been incredibly fulfilling. Design is at its best when it feels authentically lived.”

Sheridan Road Magazine Feature:
From Lakefront to Legacy
We’re thrilled to share a recent spotlight on one of our favorite projects—breathing new life into a home filled with one-of-a-kind antiques and treasured artwork.

Our clients brought us an entire house of collected pieces with deep personal history, and together we reimagined them in their new space. By brightening the palette and refining the layout, we preserved the character they loved while giving each heirloom room to shine.

It’s a beautiful reminder that meaningful design doesn’t start from scratch—it starts with the stories you already own.

This season is a reminder of why we do what we do: design that feels personal, purposeful, and deeply connected to the people who live within it.

To our clients, thank you for trusting us with your homes and your visions. To our vendors and partners, thank you for bringing creativity, craft, and collaboration to every project. Each of you plays a role in shaping work that truly matters.

From our family to yours, we wish you a joyful holiday season filled with warmth, gratitude, and possibility. Here’s to meaningful moments and inspired design in the year ahead.
