National Hunger & Homelessness Awareness Week is Coming Up

 

This National Hunger And Homelessness Awareness Week, we’re honoring the incredible work being done across St. Louis to fight hunger and homelessness — from Gateway Housing First’s new development, Francie’s Place, to the ongoing efforts of Operation Food Search and the STL Food Bank.

We’re proud to continue this mission through Benton Park Place, our upcoming development for older adults at Jefferson and Arsenal. The project will include 8 units of Permanent Supportive Housing for older adults at high risk of or coming out of homelessness, in partnership with Gateway Housing First.

Together, we’re building stronger, more compassionate communities. 🧡

Applications are now open for the 2026 Neighborhood Leadership Fellows program! 🏙️

This advanced nine-month training program, hosted by Creating Whole Communities in partnership with UMSL and MU Extension, equips community leaders to elevate their voices at civic decision-making tables in order to produce stronger regional policies for neighborhoods.

✨ Participants will receive:
✔️ In-person + virtual leadership sessions
✔️ A $2,000 stipend
✔️ A UMSL Chancellor’s Certificate in Civic Leadership
