Los Angeles, CA — Survivors of the Eaton and Palisades fires will come together this Saturday, November 15, for the Virtual Rebuilding Summit, hosted by the Eaton Fire Survivors Network (EFSN) — a free, one-day online event designed to help families find money, save time, and make rebuilding decisions with confidence.

 

Led by survivors and featuring leading experts in construction, finance, design, permitting, and insurance, the summit offers clear, practical tools to help homeowners secure funding, plan effectively, and rebuild safer, stronger homes.

“We know that survivors are facing real accessibility challenges — many are still displaced, some are caring for children, others are managing mobility issues or simply aren’t ready yet to absorb all this information,” said Reina Pomeroy, Managing Director of EFSN and total-loss survivor of Colorado’s 2021 Marshall Fire. “That’s why we made the summit fully virtual. Survivors who are ready for this information can access it now, and afterward, every session will be housed on our website for on-demand access when they’re ready.”

 

Pomeroy co-founded Marshall Together, the recovery network that led her community through rebuilding. Having rebuilt her own home and helped her neighbors do the same, she now brings that proven, survivor-to-survivor expertise to Los Angeles.

 

“For the past two months, we’ve vetted every builder and every panelist so survivors get the most reliable, high-impact information,” said Joy Chen, Executive Director of EFSN and former Deputy Mayor of Los Angeles. “Our criteria were simple: the information must be survivor-focused, save money, and save time. Every session is designed to help families overcome the financial, logistical, and emotional barriers that stand between them and recovery.”

Attendance is free and open to all Eaton and Palisades fire survivors. Participants may join any session or stay for the full day.

The summit is made possible through the support of Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles, Builders Alliance, County Supervisor Kathryn Barger’s Office, Southern California Gas Company, Genesis Builders, Christopherson Builders, Altadena Recovery and Rebuild Corporation, Altadena Builds Back Foundation, and Bright Harbor.
