Real (approachable) Style Advice for Real (grown-up) Women with
Real (smart) Budgets

November 16, 2025

Dear First name / friend,
Hello! I’m back with the Weekend Update after two weeks away—first a quick escape to the Florida Keys with friends, then a trip to NJ to see Jamie and take FlirtyFinds on the road for a fundraiser event. Now it feels like the holiday season is officially warming up.

Thanksgiving is still my favorite holiday, and I’ve never been a big Christmas-hoopla person (thanks, Mary ❤️). But now that the pressure to create “magic” for little kids is behind me, I’m even tempted to pull out the Christmas decorations early—words I truly never thought I’d say.

It helps that my three guys are coming home from Chicago next weekend for an eight-day visit…and then back again for a week over Christmas. They’ll be working from home during the week, so I’ll be figuring out where to put everyone—and what on earth to feed them (HELP?!).

Now, let’s get into some outfit ideas as we head into the holiday season…

 1. 🎥  One Base, 4 “Festive Casual” Party Looks
If you’ve got a white or cream top and a pair of jeans, you can create multiple party-ready outfits without buying a whole new look. I posted a reel yesterday showing 4 easy ways to elevate this simple base using accessories and layering pieces many of us already own.

And don’t worry about copying the looks exactly—use them as ideas. Then take a little shopping trip in your own closet and see what you discover. You might be surprised by what you already have.

2. My Current Products: Skincare, Makeup & Hair Favorites
I don’t pretend to be a beauty expert or influencer, but I do get asked what I’m using—so I pulled together a catalog with one-click access to my go-to skincare, makeup, and hair picks. I’m not exclusive to one brand, but the foundation of my routine is with DRMTLGY—a dermatologist-backed company committed to safe, effective products—without unnecessary markups.

Even better: today they’re offering 30% off site-wide + a free gift (that you get to choose) with $40 purchase.  It's a great time to try them if you’re freshening your skincare for fall and winter. In the link below I give my routine, but you need to design the one right for your unique needs. They have a quiz to get you started.

3. Holiday Style, Simplified
The holidays are approaching—events, photos, gatherings, and the what-am-I-wearing scramble included.
But remember… you probably already have more to work with than you think.

My Top 10 Style Strategies Guide helps you use what’s in your closet right now and make it look more modern, intentional, and pulled together with simple, confidence-boosting tweaks.

Because sometimes all you need is a better shoe, a cleaner neckline, a sleeve roll, a front tuck, or a smarter color pairing.

Inside the Guide:

👉🏼 10 simple, repeatable strategies for everyday outfits
👉🏼 The core concept behind each strategy (clear and practical—no influencer noise)
👉🏼 A “try this today” prompt to make it easy to use immediately

If you want to feel more confident in your clothes this season—without starting from scratch—this guide is the place to begin.

👉🏼And coming soon: the Winter/Holiday Style System, where we’ll put these strategies into practice with daily outfit prompts tailored to your plans and your weather—making getting dressed the easiest part of your day.

Plus, we’ll tackle all the burning questions—i.e. what to wear to those oddly-specific holiday gatherings, how to layer without looking like the Michelin Man, how to stay warm and stylish, and yes, how to look winter-festive even if it’s 82° where you live.
