Aspire News: November 2025

Our First Mingle & Jingle Was a Holiday Hit!

Thank you to everyone who supported Aspire’s Mingle & Jingle fundraiser this year: attendees, sponsors, volunteers, raffle donors, and partners who helped bring the evening to life!

Because of you, the event was truly a hit. Guests enjoyed a festive and welcoming atmosphere, explored the Christmas Village, connected with one another, and celebrated Aspire’s mission in a meaningful way.

We are grateful to everyone who showed up and spread the word to help make this year’s Mingle & Jingle such a memorable success. Thank you for believing in our work and in every adult learner who walks through our doors.

And with Giving Tuesday on December 2, it is the perfect moment to carry that same spirit forward.

If Mingle & Jingle left you inspired, this global day of generosity is a simple and impactful way to continue supporting the opportunities Aspire provides for adult learners across Dallas.

Growth and Milestones in Aspire’s SEE Program

At Aspire’s recent SEE Recognition Ceremony, students, volunteers, and staff celebrated meaningful milestones in our Sequential English Education (SEE) program. Students were awarded certificates as they advanced through program levels, a moment that represents courage and the belief that progress is possible at any age.

A highlight of the celebration was a visit from Donna, a proud SEE graduate who returned to encourage the newest group of students. Donna shared her journey with honesty and warmth, emphasizing that she once sat exactly where they were. She spoke about the challenges she faced, how Aspire helped her move forward step by step, and reminded students that their hard work today creates opportunities for tomorrow. Her message offered reassurance and inspiration to everyone in the room.

We also celebrated a remarkable milestone from a current student who began his journey in SEE to build the foundational English skills he needed to feel confident in a traditional ESL class. After completing the entire program, he has successfully transitioned to Level 3 ESL! An achievement that reflects both his dedication and the power of the right learning environment.

The SEE program exists for adults with visual and/or auditory processing differences, including dyslexia and auditory processing disorder, who benefit from a more personalized approach to reading and foundational English skills. In small, supportive classes led by trained volunteer instructors, students engage with language through a structured, multisensory approach, hearing, seeing, speaking, and writing together to build skills that last.

Across SEE, students are reaching goals that once felt out of reach: reading to their children, understanding workplace instructions, filling out important forms independently, and continuing their education. These are the real-life impacts of accessible, encouraging literacy support.

If you know someone who could benefit from classes like SEE or who has struggled in traditional learning environments, please share Aspire with them. Referrals help us reach more adults who are ready for a fresh start.
