Foodshed Forum Fairfield County is a program of The Foodshed Network.

“When trees are in crisis, they signal to their roots to deepen and reach toward each other in search of nourishment and stability. This moment is asking us to do the same—to dig deep and tap into our wells of courage, community, and creativity as we navigate uncertainty.” Sarah Ghiorse

THANK YOU to everyone who showed up for A TALE OF TWO STATES Addressing Food Insecurity in Connecticut Through Community Empowerment! What a thoughtful, dynamic and deeply insightful conversation – one that we need to have in every community center throughout the state. Let’s stay connected and find ways to collaborate, get creative and carry this conversation forth, together, and in our own way.

Thank you Victoria Zucco at Common Ground for her gracious hosting. Thank you, very much, to the remarkable panelists: Kashia Diaz: Owner of KD Gastronomy Consulting & Chef for Middletown Public Schools, Christian Duborg: Connecticut Food & Nutrition Policy Analyst, Susan Harris: Member of Witnesses To Hunger, Sarah Rose Kareem: Co-founder and Farm Manager at Samad Gardens Initiative, Randall Mel: Director of Food, Nutrition & Wellness Services for Middletown Public Schools and President-Elect of the School Nutrition Association of Connecticut (SNACT), Liz Wimpfheimer: Assistant Manager at Fairgate Community Farm and Moderator, Vetiveah Immanuel: Founder of Radiance Gardens & Co-founder of Liberated Land Cooperative.
