As we start December, we want to thank you for being part of our community. Whether you attended a workshop, met with a coach, or reached out for support, we are glad to be a part of your journey. Our programs will continue throughout the winter, with the exception of our office closure from Dec. 25 to Jan. 1. We are here to help you finish the year with confidence, stability, and new goals. If you need support with budgeting, credit, employment, or financial planning, we are just one call or click away.

Understanding your credit report

Get clear, step-by-step guidance on reading and understanding your credit report. In this workshop, we will review:
  • What information appears on your report
  • How credit scores are calculated
  • How to dispute errors
  • Tips to build or rebuild credit
This workshop is free and available in both English and Spanish. All participants will receive resources to help monitor and protect their credit.

Learn How to Settle Tax Debt

If you're struggling with tax debt, you're not alone, and there may be options to reduce what you owe. In this clinic, you'll learn:
  • What an "Offer in Compromise” is
  • Who qualifies and how to apply
  • Documents you need for IRS or VA tax relief
  • How to avoid future tax penalties
Our tax professionals will guide you through the process and answer your questions. This workshop is free and open to all clients.

FINANCIAL TIP OF THE MONTH:
try the $20 buffer method

Each week, set aside $20 in a separate savings folder or envelope. $20 a week is significant enough to build meaningful savings. After three months, you will have $240 set aside for emergencies, bills, or holiday expenses. Consistency matters more
 than the amount!

Britepaths and the Financial Empowerment Center (FEC) at South County are committed to supporting you on your journey toward stability and success. Whether you’re looking for personalized financial coaching, career development workshops, resources to navigate the job market, tax preparation, or food assistance, we’re here to help.
Your goals are within reach, and we’re here to guide you every step of the way.
