Today's e-news is due to a conversation I recently had with a friend. This friend is a gifted healer and has so much to give, but something keeps holding them back from moving forward and starting their dream business.

 

While talking to them it got me thinking about all the blocks aka fears I had to overcome when I wanted to start North Country Spiritual Pathways and Wellness, LLC. I had owned two businesses before when I lived in Massachusetts and both were successful, but somehow this was different. It was different because the business I was dreaming of starting this time made me more vulnerable, I had to open myself up to others.

 

I doubted myself so much. I worried about how I would find, attract, and keep clients and then I worried that I would have clients and wondered if I would be able to help them, I mean after all who am I? I kept thinking I wasn't “special enough” or “worthy”. I mean what if I didn't have all the answers for my clients? What if I disappointed them and myself? 

 

But if I am being completely honest my biggest obstacle was my obesity. Yup that's right. Here I was getting ready to open a wellness studio and was afraid people would like at my size and think “omg what does she know about wellness, look at her!” 

 

But you know what I kept ignoring those voices in my head because they were not my voices, but voices of other people, including my mom. People who put me down and always made sure I knew I would never be enough. They were not MY voice.

 

So, I made a decision. A decision that changed my life forever. I decided that the only voice I was going to listen to was my own. I did not need approval from anyone else or acceptance from anyone else. I became empowered.

 

Did this remove the fear, nope. The fear, anxiety and self-doubt were still trying to deflate me and discourage me. So, how did I get over my fears and false beliefs? I took action. I started slowly. I took classes on different energy healing modalities and business, I designed a website and business card and brochures. I learned the different business models and with the advice of a business mentor I decided to go with the LLC model. I do recommend finding a business mentor, they really do come in handy.

 

Even while I was taking these actions the voices were still creating doubt and fear, but I kept ignoring them and telling myself “I've got this.” Deep down I knew I would be successful because I was following my heart and I know whenever you follow your heart you can not go wrong.

 

I am happy to say by ignoring my fears and false beliefs I managed to build a healing practice that I am proud of and that has been successful for over ten years. And the one thing I learned that was one of my fears was so not true - I did not need to know all the answers. It was ok to say to a client “that's a great question let's find the answer together.”

 

So, this week I ask you what dreams are you putting off because of fear and false beliefs? What voices are holding you back? Do you even know what your dreams are or have you forgotten them, giving up on them?  Do you feel you are too old now? What is holding you back from living the life you dream of?

 

When I ask that last question the most common answer is money. But let me let you in on a little secret. When you start manifesting and taking steps towards a dream the Universe/God will provide. It's none of our business how, we just need to trust that it will. 

 

When I started my own business I was working a part-time job as a church administrator for over 13 years. I did my business after my hours at the church. After a few years my business grew so much so that I knew I needed to leave my church job, but that fear crept in again. What if I couldn't make enough money to live?  Again, I needed to trust that everything was ok. I needed to trust my path, the Universe and more importantly myself. I needed to trust that everything I needed was inside of me. So, I retired from my church job and step into North Country Spiritual Pathways and Wellness full-time. Best decision ever!

 

Isn't it time you stopped listening to those negative voices and beliefs that are holding you back? Isn't it time you step into your empowerment and believe in yourself? Isn't it time that you get the life you were always meant to have? 

 

Whatever your dreams you deserve to live them. You deserve to be happy and successful. You deserve to be seen and heard!
