managing tension the right way
Conflict is inevitable, but de-escalation strategies reduce the intensity of conflicts and maintain a safe, respectful environment for both staff and residents.

Key Steps to Execute:
  1. Verbal Communication: Speak calmly, listen actively, avoid accusatory language, and empathize with feelings.
  2. Non-Verbal Communication: Maintain personal space, use relaxed posture and facial expressions, and avoid aggressive gestures.
  3. Emotional Regulation: Stay relaxed, manage your reactions, be mindful, and set clear boundaries respectfully.
Using proper de-escalation techniques helps staff maintain control of challenging situations, promotes safety, and fosters a supportive environment for residents to thrive.
