Real (approachable) Style Advice for Real (grown-up) Women with
Real (smart) Budgets

November 30, 2025

Dear First name / friend,
Coming to you after a full week of food, fun, and chaos—in the best way. The boys’ visit even got extended thanks to a snowstorm in Chicago. They managed to switch their flights to early Monday, so we get one more unexpected bonus day together. Today’s plan: decorate the tree, eat and drink (again), and squeeze in a few more laughs before real life resumes.

As you’ll read below, I’m ready to get back on track tomorrow after a week of overindulgence…but wow, did we have a great time. Hard to believe they'll be back in just three weeks to do it all again. Thank goodness for their ability to work remotely at times - enabling them to spend extended time here.

Before we dive into this week’s updates, a tiny favor: I am this close—about 20 followers away—from hitting 18K on Instagram. If you don’t already follow me (@b.styled) would you mind giving me a quick follow here? Thank you, thank you!

Now, here’s what you may have missed this week…

1. 🎥 Your Post-Holiday Pick-Me-Up (3 Instant Face Brighteners)
If you’re like me, the week after Thanksgiving can feel sluggish. The good news? You don’t need a full makeover—just a few simple tweaks. Here are 3 instant pick-me-ups that brighten your face and help you look and feel better right away.

2. A Simple Habit That’s Helped Me for 35+ Years
I’m not a health or fitness expert, but I want to share a simple habit that’s helped me stay steady through college weight gain, menopause, and plenty of holiday over-indulging.

When I feel like I’ve been off track (like this past week!), I check in with myself—literally. I step on the scale, see where I’m at, and if I’m up a couple of pounds, I (calmly) course-correct right away…no obsessing, no deprivation, and no “off-limits” foods. I up my water intake, focus on protein and veggies, and get back to my daily exercise.

For me, it’s much easier to make small adjustments now than to wake up in January beating myself up because those small gains snowballed into something bigger.

It’s not about perfection.
It’s about not letting a few indulgent days turn into a few indulgent weeks—because that can tank your energy, mood, and confidence fast.

And in addition to style and the #justgetdressed habit, these honest, relatable conversations are exactly what we dive into inside the Winter Style System private community—because everything is easier (and more doable) with support, accountability, and like-minded women who are in the same boat.

 2. 🎥  Your Easiest Holiday Outfit Formula
If getting dressed during the holidays stresses you out (or tempts you buy all new things), this is the reel to watch. One white/cream top (you pick the style) and one pair of jeans = four totally different party looks. Use it as inspiration, then “shop” your own closet first.

👉🏼 And if you need a great white shirt, the one I recommend is 50% off right now – no-iron, wrinkle-free and just enough stretch. (Petite, Plus and Petite-Plus too). It's also available in a POPOVER option.

3. My Fall/Winter Closet
I created a catalog of all my current fall/winter pieces. You can sort by brand in the upper left corner in case you want to shop a specific retailer/sale and are curious what pieces I own. Keep in mind that my job requires me to own more than I really need so this is a pretty big list…use it for ideas only! Any questions, feel free to email me (just hit reply here).

4. My Current Products: Skincare, Makeup & Hair Favorites
I don’t pretend to be a beauty expert or influencer, but I do get asked what I’m using—so I pulled together a catalog with one-click access to my go-to skincare, makeup, and hair picks. Now is a great time to stock up on these kinds of products as there are lots of sales going on (in case you didn't notice). 😉
