Shelby's Top Christmas Albums 🎄🎅

I love Christmas music. I will listen to it nonstop from the evening of Thanksgiving until the night on Christmas Day.
There's nothing like bopping along to a song with the uptempo melodies while you're hanging the lights outside of your house or one from your childhood reminds you of years gone by. Or listening on the way to work because it just makes the day a little more cheery.
I have my favorites that I always go back to. But, I am always open to listening and discovering new Christmas music.
One thing I've learned about myself in recent years: Being so melancholy and too ‘in my head,' listening to the sad Christmas music like “Christmas Makes Me Cry,” “I Miss You Like Christmas," “Baby Please Come Home” or something along those lines, just makes me more sad and fills it with a cloud of loneliness that isn't necessary. I now know not to do that to myself and to actively create a plan that will avoid that.
And I will not, under any circumstances, listen to or watch “Christmas Shoes”…I will not do it.
In other news, here are some happier tunes to make your season bright!

*NSYNC's Home for Christmas
01
Nothing quite takes me back to childhood nostalgia and waiting for “Santa” to arrive like *NSYNC's HOME FOR CHRISTMAS. You get holiday cheer, counting down the days to be home with the family, love songs in that true boy band 90s style and it still makes me giddy like something big and exciting is coming.
Kelly Clarkson's Wrapped in Red
02
Kelly Clarkson always said she wanted that modern Christmas classic hit, like Mariah's “All I Want for Christmas.” Now she's achieved that with the amount of streams on her famous holiday hit, Underneath the Tree. She knows how to croon heartfelt ballads that make you miss Christmases past and also how to slap a smile on your face, throw on the ugly sweater and sing along to something fun while you decorate the tree.
LeAnn Rimes' Greatest Hits Christmas
03
LeAnn Rimes has always been one of my favorites. She's another nostalgic favorite for my family. She was one of my grandma's favorites, too, and something we shared, so whenever I hear or see LeAnn, it's a little reminder of my memories with my grandma. The GREATEST HITS CHRISTMAS is a new one with a combination of LeAnn's Christmas favorites and hits, including some of my favorites all rolled into one.
Carrie Underwood's My Gift
04
Carrie's been one of my favorite artists since she first stepped onto the American Idol stage. This Christmas album is the perfect balance of classic songs you grew up singing in church and a few originals, with the typical Christmas cheer. And a few faith-based sprinkled in, too, as is Carrie's brand.
Amy Grant's Home for Christmas
05
I'd listened to a lot of Amy Grant growing up as kid of the 90s who also grew up in the church. But, I didn't truly grow to appreciate this album until I listened it to the year I interviewed her. Something about it just hit differently. She's a brilliant singer/songwriter, and there's such a conviction in her voice and storytelling. There's a peace that comes from listening to this one!
HONORABLE MENTIONS

I could list so many others, but these are a few more albums from my favorite artists that I must listen to each year: Lady A, Hilary Duff, Chris Young and Celine Dion. An eclectic mix, I know.
I've also compiled a couple of playlists with a mix of artists from a mix of genres.
