ABOUT THE FILMMAKERS Barry Brewer Jr. is an actor, comedian, filmmaker, and founder of OBE Studios with over 20 years of industry experience. Known for his standout roles on Tyler Perry's Bruh, BET's Games People Play, and his acclaimed stand-up special Chicago I'm Home, Barry blends faith, heart, and humor into everything he creates. At Cannes 2025, he premiered Almost Jaded, marking his arrival as a major voice in independent film.
Jasmine Monet Brewer, Ph.D. is an educator, filmmaker, writer, and co-founder of OBE Studios. A scholar with a Ph.D. in Educational Policy and roots in Oakland, California, Jasmine brings intellectual rigor and cultural consciousness to every project. Her recent work includes The Flight Before Christmas, which she co-wrote and co-directed, premiering at Cannes 2025. She is committed to creating narratives that affirm and uplift Black identity while nurturing the next generation of storytellers.
