FOUR NEW FUNDED PROJECTS
Following 334 applications for funding in the summer, a LOT of reading and assessing, a public vote and then a member vote, please see below for EOCA's latest funded projects. Click on each one for more information.

DON'T FORGET! Although most of the Green Friday events run by our members have now finished, the one being run by our friends at Rab and Lowe Alpine (Equip Outdoors Ltd) is continuing until the end of the month.  So if your kit needs a bit of a freshening up for your adventures after Christmas, read on …..

 ADVOCACY WORK
KEEPING NATURE AT THE TOP OF THE AGENDA
As well as funding nature recovery,  EOCA acts on behalf of its membership as a voice for nature and wild places in the corridors of power - by advocating for and supporting legislation that puts the environment and climate front and centre.  Read on to find out about some of our actions below:
 
National Parks Matter, UK: EOCA and a number of its members joined Campaign for National Parks in calling on the UK government not to remove protections to National Parks in its new Planning and Infrastructure Bill. 
Update: the government has agreed to make changes to the bill that addressed major concerns.
 
EU Water Framework Directive (WFD): EOCA has been working with WWF and other partners to stress the importance of this legislation's continuity.The association met with the European Commission in Brussels alongside members Nikwax and NZERO, and highlighted the importance of this directive in protecting our freshwater ecosystems and clear water supply.
Update: The EU has announced the reopening of WFD, in Spring 2026. This may mean reducing current protections, and EOCA will continue to work with its allies and business members to ensure the highest possible level of protection for rivers and lakes are maintained.
