Happy Holidays to everyone!  What a wonderful time of the year. Our Keep Mississippi Beautiful Affiliates wear many hats and it is amazing what you continually do - as I have seen firsthand some of you decorating your communities for Christmas and planning your community Christmas parade. I know many of you have been planting the flower bulbs and I can’t wait to see your beautiful gardens in the spring. In 2025 you had many wonderful projects that you can share with us – please enter these in our Annual Awards Program, being held April 30 – award entries are due March 6, 2026

 

Last week, I hope many of you had the opportunity and time to enjoy the virtual Keep America Beautiful Town Hall Meeting. I want to thank Keep America Beautiful for sharing some of the highlights of 2025 and energizing us to get ready for the 2026 Keep America Beautiful Summit in New Orleans. We look forward to seeing many of you that will be attending.

 

It is time for our affiliates to send their proposals to us for hosting the State Greatest American Cleanup for 2026.  Proposals are due January 30, 2026.

November was officially America Recycles Month, and our Mississippi affiliates went above and beyond! We had recycling and clean-up projects that happened all throughout the state in November. From pumpkin and tire recycling in Tupelo, to city-wide cleanups in Vicksburg and Jackson. November was a great month for Keep Mississippi Beautiful!

 

The 2026 Keep America Beautiful Summit will be held in New Orleans, February 26–28!

 

Our Mississippi affiliates will have the opportunity to attend engaging sessions, get inspired, and bring back new ideas to implement in their own communities.
