January Newsletter
Happy New Year & Welcome to January 2026!

We hope your holiday season was filled with rest, connection, and a little extra joy. We’re so happy to welcome everyone back to the studio Monday, January 5th, as we return to our regular class schedule and kick off a brand-new year at Dixon Dance Studio.

January always brings fresh energy to the studio—and we love it. It’s a time for refocusing, recommitting, and leaning into growth. It’s also a great time of year to start a new class or try something new. Whether your dancer is brand new or continuing their journey, this season is all about building strong foundations, confidence, and a genuine love of dance.

We’re already counting down to our Summer 2026 recital, Making the Band 🎸🎤 Once classes have settled into a steady groove, dancers will begin working on recital dances during class time. Our teachers have been excitedly planning music and choreography—it’s going to be a blast. We can’t wait to get ready to rock with you all.

There’s plenty of excitement ahead this spring. Our Competition Team heads to their first competition of the season February 13–15, and LA Dance Magic in Santa Clara is coming up soon for dancers ready for a weekend of inspiration and growth.

We’re also excited to share some joyful studio news. As Miss Kiana and her family prepare to welcome a new baby, we’re thrilled to welcome DDS alum Lisette Abundez to help with some of her classes. Lisette recently graduated from California Polytechnic State University with a minor in dance and choreographed and performed with the school’s dance company, Orchesis. Having former dancers return and give back means so much to us.

As always, thank you for being part of our DDS family. We’re committed to quality training, leading with kindness and integrity, creating a space where every dancer feels they belong, and making sure there’s always room for growth and joy. We’re so grateful to share this season with you.

Warmly - The DDS Team

Magic in Motion 2025
Image item
The holidays are a busy, chaotic time of year, which is exactly why we love our Winter Showcase. Magic in Motion gave our dancers the chance to get on stage, show what they’ve been working on, and just dance.

And wow — it was such a blast. The house was packed, the energy was high, and some of those dances barely fit on the stage (in the best way). Our dancers were flowing on and off nonstop, full of confidence, focus, and joy, and we couldn’t be more proud of the work they put in to get there.

Winter Showcase is also one of our favorite times to come together as a studio community. Hearing what makes Christmas special to our dancers, feeling the support from families in the audience, and sharing a night that’s about growth, effort, and celebrating the season means a lot to us.

Thank you to our dancers for showing up and giving it your all, and to our parents, families, and friends for filling the house and cheering so loudly. We are so grateful for this community and the joy you bring to everything we do.

Here are a few favorite moments from Magic in Motion — more memories, more smiles, and lots of dance 💫
