🜁 The Quiet Return of Light
The Winter Solstice on Sunday, December 21st marks the longest night of the year, a moment of stillness before the light begins its slow return.
This is not a season of display. It is a season of listening.
In the dark, things clarify. What is essential remains. What is no longer needed falls away.
The light does not arrive loudly at solstice, it returns quietly, almost imperceptibly, from within.
I’m writing to you on a day when the power is out due to wild Montana winds. At the same time, I’m preparing for new windows to be installed in my home and studio — clear glass, more light entering the space.
It feels symbolic — not of exposure, but of clarity.

🜃 In the Studio: What Is Incubating
The studio has been a place of inward work these past weeks. I’ve been visioning forward, building backend systems, and shaping the first piece in a new series titled Wild Within — the Mule Deer.
I’m not ready to share it publicly yet. Some works dwell in the shadow before they meet the world.
For now, this first piece belongs to my inner circle. You! It is for those who understand that sensitivity, attunement, and quiet strength are not passive qualities, but forms of intelligence. The Mule Deer arrives as a guardian of sensitivity and attunement, a first prayer, a threshold figure for a series still finding its breath.
More will be revealed when the timing is right.

🜂 Gathering of Threads:
Gallery MAR, Carmel
This fall culminated in a deeply satisfying show at Gallery MAR in Carmel, where two works made their debut. Epeius returned in a new iteration — refined, grounded, and mythically charged — alongside Flow State, a new Jumper Triptych exploring embodied intelligence, momentum, and presence.
This show felt like a completion — a gathering of threads — rather than an announcement.

🜄 From the Saddle: Honoring the Pause
From the saddle, winter has brought a natural slowing. We’ve been riding less, listening more.
This downtime isn’t absence — it’s integration.
As winter unfolds, I’ll be spending February through May in California — returning to the sun, training with Chloe Smith, and deepening both craft and connection.
No big declarations yet. Just a gentle orientation toward light.
There is wisdom in honoring a slower rhythm.
