“Working From Life. In Present Time.”

December, 2025

Dear {{ subscriber.firstName | default('Hello') }},
I hope you are enjoying a relaxing holiday season. I love this segment of time between Christmas and New Year's; often named Twixmas. I find it's such a wonderful time to reflect and regroup after a busy lead up to the holidays.

We hosted our yearly Christmas Eve gathering with family in our home. A buffet style of warm and cold foods along with a fun gift opening session rounded out our night. Then on Christmas day it was off to my brother's for a delicious feast! I am forever grateful for family and the love felt among us all. Of course there are always members missed that joined us through the years. My sweet dad would be one. I'm sure he was smiling down from heaven.

As the New Year approaches, I'm feeling excited to dive into new work. Before the holidays, I did some leg work gathering all the data I collected over the warmer months in order to feel prepped and ready to begin as soon as the new year begins.

I also finished off the year with another larger painting completed which I will be sharing in more detail in an upcoming Newsletter. But for now I am sharing a quick pic of it on my easel. It truly was a magical night when I was on location painting and gathering field notes for this one!

Lastly, I want to take a moment to sincerely thank you for joining me on this artistic journey. Honestly, your feedback and support mean more than you know! So thank you so much!

Wishing you and your family a peaceful and enjoyable end of the season and A Very Happy New Year! Remember to enjoy small pauses in your day where you take time to fill back up and escape this busy, eventful world.

Warmly,
Debbie xx

Quick Studio pic -24x30in. Oil on canvas, Grant's Lake, Nova Scotia

My intention for this piece was to depict both the mystic mood and magic that occurred the evening I worked on location. I loved the moody lighting and great sense of peace felt.

As mentioned, I will expound with more detail on the events that occurred that evening. I love being a witness to nature's beauty and subtle changes over a segment of time! I hope this piece evokes some of these emotions in you as well.

P.S. I am yet to title this piece, so if any titles pop into your head please send your suggestions along! Your thoughts are always welcomed!
