Why stay up late when you can ring in the new year at noon! Come and celebrate New Year's Eve TODAY at the Vista Grande Public Library, 1556 N. Arizola Rd., with a fun event just for kids. Pajamas and party attire are encouraged, but not required. The fun starts at 11:00 a.m. with fun activities until the countdown till noon!

Winter looks a little different in other parts of the country right now! Celebrate the sights, sounds and smells of winter through snow falling, animals prepping, and children playing. Winter is Here by Kevin Henkes is our new Storywalk that starts January 6th, featured in Peart Park. Walk the path and read the story!

This month at the Casa Grande Main Library our Saturday Movie and Coloring Actvities will be "Under the Sea". We will kick it off  with this kraken trying to save the underwater world! Movie starts at 2:00 p.m. Light snacks and drinks with screw top lids are allowed. Children under 12 must be supervised by an adult.  
Located at 449 N. Drylake St. Casa Grande.

Trade a Puzzle – Take a Puzzle!
1st Saturday of Every Month, Starts January 3, 2026
10:00 AM – 11:00 AM
Vista Grande Library, 1556 N. Arizola Rd., Casa Grande, AZ 85122
 
How It Works:  
Bring jigsaw puzzles you no longer use
Receive 1 token per puzzle (maximum 5 puzzles)
Trade 1 puzzle for 1 puzzle of similar size
Puzzle Requirements:  
Excellent or gently used condition
Complete puzzles only (no missing pieces)
Minimum 300 pieces
Original box and poster preferred when available
Important NotesSwaps must be for a comparable size puzzle
(Example: 300-piece for 300 or 500-piece)
Tokens are returned when you check out
Puzzle donations are welcome! Hope to see you there!

Come join the Lunch Bunch Book Group for snacks, refreshments, and a lively discussion on the book of the month, The Reformatory by Tananarive Due, Janaury 13th from 12:00 to 1:30 p.m. at the Casa Grande Main Library, 449 N. Drylake St.  
This year's theme ties into the 250th Anniversary of the Declaration of Independence, centering on the famous line "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness."

Come to the Vista Grande library for bi-monthly gardening tips. The presentations are given by University of Arizona Cooperative Extension Master Gardeners.

Current Challenges:
  1. 25 in 25 Challenge (All Ages) Read 25 Books throughout 2025-Finish up your 25 books! Ends December 31st, 2025.
  2. Reading Wrap-Up (All Ages) Runs from December 1st-December 31st, 2025 
  3. Upcoming! AZ Read 250 (All Ages) Participants are encouraged to read 250 minutes between Janaury 1st through March 6th, 2026
And don't forget our:
1000 Books Before Kindergarten (Ages 0-5) Parents, read 1,000 books to your child before they start kindergarten! Show the completed challenge at either library location and get a certificate and picture in front of a fun backdrop.

Did you know both library locations have study rooms that you can reserve? Study Rooms can be reserved for up to two hours per day. You can reserve online, by phone, or in person.

Doing a little spring cleaning? The Friends of the Casa Grande Public Library are looking for donations! You can drop off your smaller donations to either library,
The Main Library at 449 N. Drylake Street or
The Vista Grande Library at 1556 N. Arizola Rd anytime during regular business hours. For larger donations please call ahead, 520-421-8710, to make arrangements. 

Volunteers needed.
Volunteers needed! The Central Lutheran Church Adult Community Education (ACE) Team offers general education tutoring and English as a second language (ESL) coaching. Volunteers work one-on-one or with small groups once or twice a week to help participants achieve personal development goals. If you would like to serve on the ACE Team, complete the VOLUNTEER INTEREST FORM available here:
