We Run
to the Rescuer

Promises Fulfilled...
“Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us.” (Ephesians 3:20)

Every year the season of Advent makes four extravagant promises. Week by week, leading up to Christmas, we ponder the promises of love, peace, joy and hope. And year after year, (moment by moment), Our Faithful Father fulfills each of those promises in His incomparable son, Jesus. Praise Him!

Each day for the next four days we are going to send you a powerful reminder of why we Run to the Rescuer. Each day you will receive a question to consider as you look at this photo. Today's question: How does the Rescuer fulfill the need for love in your life?

Each day, we invite you to rest in the same truth:

The Rescuer is faithful to meet all of our needs.

And all means all.

Running into the Arms of Love…
At Eyes Wide Open International, we have long given praise to the One Who Makes a Way When There Seems to be No Way. We have lamented mountains beyond mountains. We have prayed and petitioned. And, thanks to Him, we have crossed through waters on dry land.

Time after time throughout the fall of 2025, mountains appeared before our EWOI Children's Home family in Haiti, and time after time, by the mighty hand of God, those mountains kept moving. And so did we.

It often felt like the parting of the Red Sea:
  • when He Made a Way for our entire family to safely travel, with little more than the clothes on their backs, through seven heavily armed roadblocks - a nearly impossible trip - to a safer area in the north.
  • when He Made a Way for me to travel to Haiti for the first time in nearly 5 years to be there when they arrived.
  • when He Made a Way so no one had to spend a night on the street, first opening hotel rooms, then a temporary housing solution for one month.
  • when He Made a Way for healing to begin through worship, prayer and many hugs and tears.
  • when He Made a Way for a more permanent temporary housing solution that exceeds our expectations.
Now we are trusting Him to provide for many urgent needs (such as beds and bunkbeds, clothing and hygiene items, a table and chairs, rent and transportation, etc.) as we transform this temporary housing situation into a home.

A Rescue from Crisis can be as dramatic as a cross-country run for your life, or as quiet as collapsing into the Arms of Love as you recover from grief of any kind.

Just as our EWOI Children's Home family in Haiti experiences the saving Love of Jesus through their new Home of Rescue, we long to offer Sunny Days - Places of Peace for Hope and Healing - here in the United States and beyond.

Our vision is for a property that represents an epic opportunity to love and serve well. It will enable us to be with people in need and care for them in new one-on-one and small group settings. It will expand our offerings to include overnights and retreats, counseling, prayer ministry intensives, spiritual direction, art and music therapies, gardening, cooking and baking, taking care of animals… there will be no limits to the lavish love and care poured out according to the unique needs of all those who we will serve.

Across the United States, there are people who are suffering, often silently, from the most desperate and grievous circumstances… the loss of a spouse, the loss of a child, the loss of freedom, the loss of hope. Significant statistics highlight the widespread experience of grief, impacting individuals of all ages. A WebMD survey revealed that a large portion of Americans (78%) have experienced grief due to a life event in the past three years. In 2023, suicide was the 11th leading cause of death overall, the second leading cause of death for individuals between the ages of 10-14 and 25-34, and the third leading cause for those aged 15-24. Mental health conditions such as depression and anxiety are major risk factors.

These beautiful men, women and children are so much more than numbers and EWOI is uniquely qualified to walk alongside each one of them.

We invite you to join in prayer and petition for brighter days ahead for some of God's most precious sons and daughters. He has not forgotten them nor forsaken them. With your help, neither will we.
