Hello Neighbors,
This season holds many meanings across our community. As Hanukkah ends, I find myself reflecting on its reminder that even in the darkest nights, there is the promise of light. That message — of perseverance, hope, and renewal — has meant so much to my family and to me, especially in times when the world feels heavy. I also want to wish a joyful and affirming Kwanzaa to all who are celebrating as it begins, and warm wishes to everyone observing the Christmas holidays.
My hope for all of us is peace — peace in our homes, peace in our hearts, and care for one another during a season that can be both joyful and emotionally complex.
For those who find this time of year especially difficult, please know you are not alone. Local support is available:
Reaching out is a sign of strength, and these organizations are here to help.
Wishing you and your loved ones comfort, care, and connection throughout this holiday season.
As we move through this meaningful season, I wanted to share a few important holiday reminders about trash and recycling collection, along with information on Christmas tree recycling, and a brief personal note of reflection and care. I will be sharing a more comprehensive newsletter at the beginning of the New Year with reminders and more details of what is happening plus community connection opportunities.

Mailers went out a few weeks ago with holiday collection information, but I wanted to be sure everyone has the details as we head toward the end of the year.
🗓️ New Collection Schedule (Starting February 2)
Beginning February 2, Metro will move to a new collection schedule that will eliminate many of the holiday-related shifts we’ve all grown used to.
