As we come to the close of 2025, I want to thank you for standing with Yahel during an extraordinary and challenging period.
In the two years since October 7th, the needs in Israel have been immense - and so has the response. Over this time, Yahel’s volunteer engagement has grown sixfold. From 600 volunteers in 2023, we are closing 2025 with close to 3,600 volunteers, far exceeding our original projections.
This kind of growth does not happen by accident. It reflects not only the urgent needs on the ground and the desire of people around the world to show up, but also Yahel’s role as a leader in the field of responsible, community-based volunteering. We are scaling with intention - investing in infrastructure, professional staff, training, and partnerships so that growth translates into real, lasting impact.
Today, Yahel works with more than 150 grassroots community partners across four regional hubs - Haifa & the North, the Center, the Western Negev, and Jerusalem. We run volunteer programs ranging from one-day experiences to our 9-month Yahel Social Change Fellowship, and we increasingly serve as a model for other organizations seeking to do this work thoughtfully and ethically.
As we close out the year, our priority is ensuring we have the resources to sustain this momentum - to continue growing responsibly, supporting our partners properly, and strengthening the broader field of service learning.
