Dear friends,
There is about a foot of snow on the roof which looks like a perfectly placed, smooth layer of whipped cream. This, of course, makes me crave whipped cream. So I will make some to top my hot chocolate mug later when I dedicate my Saturday afternoon to reading my Arthurian tales in bed. At 37 weeks pregnant, I'm slowing down big time. Client work has wrapped up, solstice formulas have been arriving to folks across the country and all classes for the year have come to completion. Sheepskins are layered on the bed and blankets are stacked in all corners of the house. The wood-stove is a close companion. Now I get to focus on personal medicine making projects: Mel sent me mugwort from California that is going into oil this morning for aid in labor. I have sunny, dried Calendula that also will be infused into oil for the babe. There is a recipe for herbal baby powder on the list with arrowroot, lavender and chamomile, if I really feel ambitious. Who knows…. Two oil infusions might be more than enough for today. I'm entering the cave, so to speak.
I wanted to send out a quick little reminder that
TOMORROW is the last day to submit an application for
Herbal Mystery School 2026. If you are interested in joining us, please send in an application
this weekend! The applications for
Flowering Round will be open through February and will be accepted on a rolling basis. I will send out more info about the program in the weeks to come, probably in a pre-scheduled email, in case baby comes soon.
Things will quiet down over here for the next while. I imagine I won't be tending this space too often over the weeks ahead, but I look forward to finding a new rhythm as it emerges. And I am very excited to be with the plants again, in Spring. Last night I dreamed of a crocus bulb breaking through snow.
Thank you for being here!
xx Liz
