The Moonflower Newsletter
Vol. 1 Issue 2

Hold on to your bras, because this week’s newsletter is officially busting at the seams.

Is it just me, or has the last two weeks felt like two months? Alaska has been fully committed to her chaos era—80+ mph winds, negative twenty-five degrees, and now snow finally… in mid-January. Make it make sense.

Between the weather whiplash, we squeezed in our first Riders Market, gathered for Spicy Book Club, and somehow still managed to be deep in planning mode for what’s coming next. And let me tell you… the next few months at Moonflower are going to be so fun.

I’ve been working behind the scenes on experiences that feel a little extra—in the best way. Think getting dressed up, laughing too loud, feeling beautiful, and remembering what it’s like to do something just for you. From intimate studio moments to nights out with your girlfriends, this season is all about connection, confidence, and a little sparkle.

You’ll see all the upcoming events listed below (and yes, you’re going to want to mark your calendar, but I just want you to know how intentional every single one of them is. Each vendor, each detail, each experience is chosen with the same goal: to make you feel amazing the moment you walk through the door.

So now—put on those comfy sweats, grab a glass of your favorite beverage, and settle in. Let’s catch up.

Riders Market Recap!

The Moonflower Boutique had the incredible opportunity to host a booth at the Riders Market, hosted by Alaska Enchanted Events, who also hosted the magical Wings and War Ball, inspired by the Fourth Wing series.

It was such a huge success! We loved meeting new faces and catching up with familiar friends from the store. A huge shoutout to Melissa, my amazing sidekick for both days—couldn’t have done it without you!

We feel so fortunate to have such a wonderful support network of ladies who make every event unforgettable. Thank you all for being part of our magical weekend!
Lingerie Spotlight
The Nova
Step into the Nova Babydoll & G-String Set and let the fantasy begin. Blacklight-ready embroidered lace, playful cutouts, and a flowy mesh skirt create a flirty, flattering silhouette — perfect for turning date night into a sultry event. Matching G-string included.
Tip of the Week: Chemises – Elegant, Classic, Timeless

Chemises are the epitome of effortless elegance. Think delicate straps, flowing fabrics, and subtle lace details that flatter every figure. They’re versatile enough for sleepwear, lounging, or a romantic evening.

Why we love them:
Flowy, forgiving, and flattering
Can double as a nightgown or boudoir piece
Timeless styles that never go out of fashion

Tip: Pair your chemise with a soft robe for a layered look. Opt for colors and textures that make you feel radiant — silk, satin, and lace are all winners.

Dear Moonflower: I'm waiting for someday..

Q: “I’ve been wanting to refresh my lingerie drawer, but I keep telling myself I’ll do it ‘when I lose weight’ or ‘when life slows down.’ How do I stop waiting?”

A: You’re not alone — and you don’t need permission from a future version of yourself. Life rarely slows down, and bodies are meant to change. Lingerie isn’t a reward for hitting a milestone; it’s a way to honor the body you’re living in right now. Start small. One piece that feels soft, supportive, or a little fun. Let it be for today, not someday. You deserve to feel good now — not later.

Winter Skin Health
Why Fit & Fabric Matter More in the Colder Months

Alaska winters are tough on skin — low humidity, cold air, and heavy layers can all lead to dryness and irritation. Because bras sit directly against the skin all day, proper fit and fabric choice make a bigger difference than most people realize.
A well-fitted bra distributes weight evenly, reducing pressure, friction, and rubbing. When a bra is too tight, too loose, or lacking support, winter layers and limited airflow can amplify discomfort and skin irritation.

Fabric matters just as much:
Cotton for breathable, everyday comfort
Bamboo or modal for softness and moisture control
Merino wool blends for warmth without trapping moisture
Performance fabrics for active days when moisture-wicking is key

Choosing bras that fit correctly and feel good on your skin supports comfort, confidence, and happier winter wear — all season long.

WORDS FROM MR. MOONFLOWER
A Splash of Color Is Never Too Early
When winter still has a firm grip on the outdoors, bringing spring inside can feel like a small act of rebellion. Forcing tulip bulbs in shallow glass vases is an easy way to enjoy fresh color weeks before your garden wakes up. This project creates a living centerpiece that brightens your home during the darker months.

Tulip bulbs suitable for forcing can be ordered through the mail in fall or early winter. Using clear glass containers filled with rocks, gravel, or decorative glass stones adds visual interest and lets you watch the roots develop as the plants grow.

What You’ll Need
  • Tulip bulbs
  • A shallow glass vase or bowl (no drainage holes)
  • Clean rocks, gravel, or glass stones
  • Water
Step-by-Step: Forcing Tulips Indoors

1. Prepare the container
Add 1–2 inches of rocks, gravel, or glass stones to the bottom of your glass vase. Set the tulip bulbs on top with the pointed ends facing upward. Arrange them close together without letting the bulbs touch.

2. Add water
Add water until it reaches just below the base of the bulbs. The bulbs should not sit directly in water—only the roots should reach moisture.

3. Chill the bulbs
Place the container in the refrigerator for 8 weeks, checking the water level occasionally. Pre-chilled tulip bulbs can also be ordered through the mail; if using them, this refrigeration step may be shortened or skipped based on supplier guidance.

4. Move to a cool garage space
After chilling, place the container in a cool, dim area such as an unheated garage or basement (around 40–50°F) for 1–2 weeks, until green shoots appear.

5. Bring into bright, indirect light
Once shoots are a few inches tall, move the vase into your living space with bright, indirect light and away from heat sources.

6. Rotate as they grow
Turn the container every day or two so the stems grow straight and evenly.

In a short time, you’ll be rewarded with tulip blooms that feel like a promise of spring—a reminder that a splash of color is never too early.
