happy new year First name / friend!

whether or not you subscribe to the whole “fresh start” of today's date, time of year offers us something so special: a chance to truly DECIDE what kind of leaders we’re going to be, what kind of platforms we’re going to build, what kind of impact we’re going to make in the months ahead –– and a call to pay attention to the noise that made it hard to hear our own goals, in months past.

I’ve been embracing this opportunity BIG TIME this year… honestly, probably because that noise felt like it had been turned up to a louder volume than ever leading up to the holidays.

as I’ve been simmering on my social strategy for 2026 and getting my content systems shit together, I figured it might be helpful to share my process so that if you’re in the thick of making some decisions about your online presence, you have a resource to help with the process.

(all my soul searching has also resulted in an absolutely epic update to my content planner template, and the brand new version of it just mighttttt be linked at the end of this email for you, for free. ahem. ahem. ahem. keep reading.)

step 001 / claiming my lanes

the biggest decision I’ve made around my own content is based on commitment, AKA getting soooo fucking certain of the vision I have for my online presence and so FIRM in my lanes of leadership.

I REFUSE to get derailed by looking around at what other folks are doing or swayed towards any shiny new platforms that won’t serve those goals long-term, so I created two lists: one for business, and one for personal.

I stripped it waaaayyy back to the basics of:

what am I actually known for?
what do I want to be known for?

this is before complicating things with perspectives (that’s coming next!), so that I just have a quick at-a-glance gut-check whenever the “should I be more like [insert name here]” scroll spriral hits. ‘cause fuck that. enough!!!

step 002 / setting my intentions

IMHO, none of us should settle for hating social media — but especially in my line of work. the intentions I set are all based around what I know will make me feel the most POSITIVE about creating, showing up, sharing in general, so that if I notice any of these things slipping I can nip it in the bud.

step 003 / themes + perspectives

this process isn’t new, but for whatever reason, I’ve never had the details of my themes visible on the same dash as my content calendar (I tucked it away somewhere that I had to seek out. don't recommend!).

in the interest of protecting myself against distractions, I’ve now laid them out LOUD AND CLEARRRR in three parts: the theme, the perspective, and an example of what style of content would fit under it.

step 004 / resource library

I’ve got a whole bank of resources at the ready now (i.e. not just a jumble of random links peppered throughout my notion account) so that my content planner really feels like an HQ for all my online initiatives.

it’s where I’ve outlined things things like who I’m creating for, my ongoing anchor content, my production workflows, my pinterest strategy, and where I’m storing banks like content prompts and hooks.

note: a couple of these resources come free in the template, but some of them are parts of other programs like social life (on sale 'til Tuesday!) and life of the party (the first 2026 launch for another live round kicks off this month!)

step 005 / consistency commitment

when I was doing my content audit at the end of the year, I realized that I’m most consistent under very specific circumstances. I feel like my fave self when my creativity is flowing steadily from idea → execution, and so naturally I wanna prioritize more of what makes that possible so I can stay showing up regularly.

step 006 / production queue

if you’ve been lurking my screenshots above, you know preparedness is highhhh on my list of non-negotiables, so I’ve got my production schedule riiiight in front of me to show me which posts I need to focus on next when I sit down for my marketing shifts.

and then, last but not least…

the calendar

where posts are planned, ideas are stored, and alllll platforms are present and accounted for so I can get a bird’s eye view on what’s comin’ down the pipe each month. sigh. it's gorgeous.
